Beach house
It is what it is.......if you want a 5 star resort, look elsewhere, its a beach house. Communication was good, place was clean. It was a little odd having the owner right upstairs, but they werent very intrusive. You cannot see the beach, but it only 30 or so yards to walk to. Overall, satisfied.....

Thank you for your 5 star review. Yes the beautiful sand dunes right in front of the property keeps growing just a bit every season, so now it’s just a few steps over the dune to see the water. Nature ☺️

Great beach cottage
We had a blast, and the access to the beach really is as simple as it looks—you walk across the lawn and over the dune in the back. Lovely neighborhood with easy access to shopping and restaurants. But the place itself is very quiet. Owners were very responsive and check-in was a breeze.

Great Experience
Such a beautiful property and the owners are very kind. We went there for Thanksgiving week. It was so nice being able to celebrate at the beach. We were able to cook an entire Thanksgiving day meal there. One day the sink disposal broke but the owners were quick to respond and replaced it right away. Highly recommend!

Exactly what I wanted. Quiet get away for the weekend. Love the privacy that the dunes give the back yard then just walk 30 feet and you are on the beach. Mary the neighbor was great. I would definitely stay there again.

Conference Weekend
Our team had a conference and this location was absolutely wonderful! A beautiful backyard with a beautiful view right over the dunes!!! We didn’t even have to get in the car to go anywhere- everything was within walking distance!

Family getaway before a conference
My partner and I needed to attend a conference later in the week in downtown Jacksonville so we went early and his parents tagged along to enjoy some time at the beach. Although the weather was not as nice as we had hoped the location was absolutely beautiful and the house was very cute. My partner and I absolutely loved the flooring and character of the house. The house has all the things needed to make meals at the house daily, which we did for breakfast and lunch. Although you can't see the Ocean (the house sits behind a dune and the rented portion is the lower level) you can hear it and walk just over the dune to it. I have never stayed so close and quaintly to the ocean. We absolutely loved it and would return if we end up in Jacksonville again!

It was just ok. You can't see the ocean from the property because of a big dune, which we did see in the pictures but thought it wouldn't be so obstructive. Also, the noise from upstairs was distracting as well. And the way to lock the door was not very secure.

I am sorry your experience was less than we would hope. Depending on time of year the dunes can get higher or lower and it’s really out of our control. But in just a few steps you can enjoy the beautiful view of the beach and ocean all day long. We typically are not loud, it’s just my husband and I. I did specify in the description that this is an old beach house and you will hear us upstairs sometimes. I am sorry if it was too much. I don’t quite understand what you mean by the door is not secure. There is actually a very secure system in place if you’d like to lock the door. We never had a problem. Other than that, we had the impression you and your family enjoyed the visit very much out on the deck, the beach and having family and friends over.

Excellent Beachfront House
This was our best family beach trip yet! It was so awesome to stay at a place where the beach is the backyard. Our host was fabulous and everything was as it stated in the listing. The house was perfect and we all had our own space which made for a comfortable stay. There were simple but nice touches that made us feel at home - beach towels by the door, a bottle of wine to welcome us etc. 10/10 would definitely stay here again!!

Perfect Chill Beachy Getaway
We stayed for a long weekend and did not want to leave! The home was quaint, rustic and very comfortable. The bathrooms and kitchen were sparkling clean and well stocked with vacation necessities. The covered porch and large backyard, tucked in by the beautiful dunes, provided an awesome outdoor relaxing space. The home’s owner, Raniya, was beyond wonderful and accommodating. We can’t wait to return.

The property is easy to locate and features walking distance to the beach. Hosts are kind and very welcoming. The patio was open to the sounds of the ocean. We used the grill, wave board, chairs, umbrella, and children's toys; there was even a kayak and fishing pole. Highly recommended for a couple's or family's vacation. We plan to return as often as we can in the future.

Cozy Beachfront Duplex
My husband and I were in town for The Players golf tournament. Unfortunately it was one of the rainiest weekends, causing unprecedented suspension of play. Fortunately, we had this lovely, cozy, charming place to retreat to. It is nestled in a nice quiet neighborhood close to restaurants, grocery, Target, and other shopping. It is literally steps to the beach. We only wish we had better weather to enjoy the outdoor patio and yard. The owners are very responsive and had great recommendations for local restaurants. It was our first time to the Jacksonville area and we already plan to return!

All the furniture was dated and uncomfortable to sit on. All 3 beds were uncomfortable to sleep on and one bedroom had just mattress and box springs on the floor. Master bathroom had no toilet paper holder and no handicap bars in the shower. No stopper in the kitchen sink, no light in the refrigerator, missing shelves in the fridge as well. Best part of the house is the outdoors patio and deck as well as easy access to the beach. Overall rating for me would be a 3

Sorry you didn’t like the beach house. We have real beds in all bedrooms. There is no mattress in a box spring on the floor! We are in the process of updating some of the living room furniture for the summer. Kitchen sink stopper is under the sink with dish washer soap and other useful things. As for the other things you mentioned: I’ll consider them. Thank you for giving us 3 stars in spite of your complaints.

This property is lower half of a beach front house that is literally steps from the beachfront. It is well appointed and the owner is very responsive. It was convenient to shops and restaurants. Great for a family of any age!

The house was lovely. Right in the beach and perfect for walks. We were blessed with lovely weather so that the sunrises were spectacular. We enjoyed the company of the home owner’s cat who was so friendly and loving. Even had a visit from a local opossum which was neat. However, we could hear the footsteps above which were not bothersome for the most part. Definitely would recommend this house for a lovely stay at Jacksonville/Ponte Vedra

Nice duplex in nice neighborhood. Cannot see ocean for dune but you are only 100 feet from house to top of dune to look at the beach. I was surprised at how few were on the beach. All of our group were 70+ in age. I would suggest chair height toilets to accommodate older folks. I would also suggest owner adding $100-200 to rate and updating furniture. That’s bar stools, sitting area and two of the beds. Overall good experience and I would return.

Seclusion, cozy, not a busy beach front
If your looking for a property that is on the beach and is not crowded with hotel or condominium guests, this is it! The availability of beach chairs and toys for the kids was a huge plus. I will say only one down side was having someone above you. The foot step are pretty loud. It almost sounded like furniture was being moved into all hours of the night. Other than that, everything was perfect. Grocery stores were near by and plenty of restaurants.

We visited this property for spring break. Our hosts were very gracious and great to work with. You cannot be the location, truly just steps from the beach. It was great to be able to wake up one morning and wander out to the beach to watch a sunset that close by. Plenty of room in the property for our family of five. Great amenities!

Holiday Visit
Perfect home away from home. We were here over Christmas to visit our son that was on travel restrictions due to COVID. Perfect place to hunker down and enjoy the beach. They even had a Christmas tree set up for us which was really nice. We will definitely be back, hopefully spring.

Beachfront and Secluded
Two story beach home and the owners occupy the second floor. Walk out the back door and onto the beach! Plenty of pool toys with kayaks as well. We had a very enjoyable stay. The Footsteps of the owners upstairs is a bit loud but unavoidable. Not that big of deal. If you want a place to relax or play on the beach I recommend this rental.
