The hotel is tiny. Tiny reception and tiny rooms. It was disappointing but the check-in and check-out staff was very good and helpful. It is good if you want a place to crash for one night only if you're traveling alone without family because the rooms are not big enough to hold more than one person plus carry-on luggage. Beware that it gets noisy on the streets below late into the night even on weeknights. Unless you're exhausted you may not be able to fall asleep. Not good for light sleepers.

I wish I could post the pictures of this hotel and their so called “superior room”. The place is super noisy, no curtains to give you privacy. The bed is super uncomfortable, the bathroom was disgusting, bugs on the ceiling. Overall, total waste of your money. The only positive part of it was Bora (the hotel receptionist), he was really nice and tried his best to make my 5 day stay worthwhile but unfortunately it was impossible because the property is in dire need of some repairs.

Nicely located pod hotel. The room is small but has all the needs to be out exploring Istanbul. Conveniently located near Galata tower, plenty of shopping and they host their Breakfast at a cute and tasty cafe around the corner. Hotel has a rooftop with a nice view and they booked my transfer to the airport the day before. Taxi was waiting 15 minutes ahead of time for peace of mind. Front desk staff member came out at 5:30am to see me off to the airport :)

I was told by a staff member that this was due the previous occupant being unwell and unable to travel so needed to stay an extra night. The manager later admitted that it was just double booked. The staff and location are great. Especially if your a foodie and shopper. Upstairs bar EXCELLENT spot to have a nip. That said. Black-mold all over the shower enclosure a huge no-no. Never slept for three nights as well. Ear-plugs, sleeping-pills with/without drinks. Keep late hours wont really matter either. But location & elevator. And 'SnogBar'.

It’s my second time in duo. They have two buildings face to face and the first time it was great and with more room. I booked by mistake in the second building which is more “budget”. Veryyy smal room, and incredibly noisy: although on same street, very bad insulations. You hear everyone like it’s right next door it’s unbearable.

The eco room was really small but it was warm, heating system works well. Location of the hotel is really convenient. Stuff was nice, and the cafe downstairs is also nice.

Stay here if you feel like getting ripped off
When making the reservations; they list deluxe room "25 meters sq" and Superior "30 meters sq" for a higher price. Also room without breakfast & room with breakfast included for a higher price. I opted for a bigger room and breakfast so I paid the higher price. When I walked to the room #102, it seemed not 30 meters sq, so I measured and it was barley 24 meters sq. I went back to the front desk thinking that they made a mistake. His response that it's the right room, but when I insisted that it's the smaller room, then he said that I was right, but the bigger rooms were sold out; so I asked him to refund me the extra I paid, he said he wouldn't and to take it up with Expedia! Also didn't even offer any gesture. In the morning went for the breakfast, there I had a plate of eggs and when I asked for other breakfast things, then he brought me a very small plate with tomatoes, cucumber and olives. Then made me paid for it and the orange juice. They list breakfast on Expedia, not only plate of eggs, thank god he didn't make me pay for bread

Affordable hotel in great (but bustling) location
Great hotel and comfy beds HOWEVER, the street noise is very loud. It's a bustling neighborhood and there were people chatting (very clearly heard) until 3 am. I stay up late anyway so not a huge problem for me but fyi to other people. Also the call to prayer speaker seems like it's right there so you will be awakened at 5:30/6 am. FANTASTIC LOCATION though! Close the the main street that takes you to Taksim Square and super close to Galata Tower.

Great neighbourhood, close to transportation, Istiklal, Galata tower, shopping, cute cafés and restaurants. Room itself was adequate size, very modern. But so simplistic there weren't many places to put things. Could use some more hooks in the bathroom, a proper door to fully enclose the shower (to stop water from running out towards the toilet), and a door without gaps to close off the bathroom, unless you're not too particular about privacy. Can be noisy from the rooftop restaurant on Saturday but otherwise very quiet

Perfect location for a 3-day Istanbul trip. Close to all major sightseeings. Micro rooms get street noise until 2am. Friendly reception. Overall it was a good deal for us.

Great hotel in excellent location
Wonderful friendly staff made sure we were comfortable and helped with advice and transport. The hotel is in an excellent location close to public transport, the bustling excitement of istiklal street, and right in the heart of the wonderful cobbled streets of Galata. The included breakfast was delicious, and available from a lovely cafe right next to the Galata tower. The room was a little small but very comfortable, nicely appointed and clean. Highly recommended!

a lovely two day casual get away
I had a lovely two nights at Duo Galata. The staff was incredibly, incredibly friendly and helpful. I was upgraded from a standard room to a somewhat larger room. The room itself was interestingly decorated and organized - the sink was inside the room. It was perfect for me, but perhaps it was a bit small to stay in with a friend. But I would definitely return to Duo Galata whenever I'm in Istanbul by myself - which is quite frequently. Also, the breakfast was at this cute little restaurant right at the Galata tower - couldn't have asked for a better breakfast, though I only had time to try it on one of the mornings. This was hands down my favorite hotel stay in Istanbul...as compared to numerous others. The neighborhood is my favorite in Istanbul as it is - just far enough from the madness of Istiklal, close enough to the metro and cutesy Galata coffee shops and bars, and close enough to the bridge to be able to walk across to the old town.

Great location, just minutes from Galata Tower and close to the winding backstreets with plenty to explore. Room is small but cosy enough. Ask for a room away from the main street if you want to avoid the noise.

Nice to be away from Sultanahment. Galata is more modern and laid back. Still very central. Lovely clean hotel. Slightly noisy on a Saturday night as on the high street. Would definitely stay there again. Very helpful staff.

Awesome! With breathtaking view!
We were in Istambul for 4 days and 3 nights and this hotel was perfect! The service is very good, and the personel is extremely nice, friendly, understanding and helpful. Its location next to Galata Tower is a good indication for the taxis. The street where it is situated is absolutely charming, with lots of coffe shops, souvenirs, sweets etc. The view from the roof on Istambul is breathtaking!! Especially at night!!! Prices of the restaurant on the roof are high, however. The negative things were present though. One night the music from the café of the hotel on the ground floor was loud till late (till 2AM at least) and it was disturbing. And we had the sink in the room!! That's funny but weird.... Overall opinion: I recommend!

Terrible Experience
This hotel is awful. Let me list all the things that made me wish I stayed elsewhere in Istanbul... 1) Upon check-in, the man helping me tried to make me pay again when I insisted that I had already paid through Hotel.com and showed him the reservation 2) The room key they gave us did not work and we had to ask them four times to fix it, and each time they did NOT fix 3) We had to suggest that maybe it was the room key card causing the issue and we were right 4) Nasty old carpet that obviously was not vacuumed since I saw pieces of hair throughout our room 5) Faucet spit out brown water 6) There was water leaking into the room during thunderstorms 7) I went down to the lobby and asked the man for an extra towel, and he asked, "WHY?" and I answered, "I need an extra one for my hair." and he chuckled snidely and then finally agreed to give me a towel. So basically I would never ever recommend this place because they're dirty and rude!

Noisy surroundings affected stay
The hotel is in a good location in Beyoglu, near the Galata Tower and a lot to popular restaurants and bars. But you need to take a tram to visit the historic sites in Sultanahmet. So if you want to be near the Sultanahmet, then this won't be the hotel for you. The room is small and facing the road. But the windows will stop the noise from outside unless you open them. If you are staying here, please ask for a room away from the street and the rooftop bar so you won't be disturbed by the noise.

Staff are very friendly and helpful. Large shower and separate toilet a plus. Shaving over vanity basin in bedroom presented lighting issues. Many quirky shops in vicinity. As hotel is on a hill, elderly or people with disabilities may find it unsuitable, but we loved it.

Close to Galata tower
This "double" modern-decor and remodeled hotel is located on a popular hilly, steep street of "old" Galata, just steps away from the historic lookout tower. Also it is relatively close to the tunnel tram that connects upper Pera/Galata street to the Galata bridge that crosses the Golden Horn water way toward the dominating palaces, mosques, and old bazaar. At the upper end of Galata/Pera (historic European settlement with embassies and churches), there is an old tram that runs the flat length of this crowded street full of shops, eating places, and itinerant musicians. This street leads to the large Taksim square (a fifteen minute walk), and a hub for more transportation, such as air terminal bus service. The hotel is also adjacent to a mosque with its five times a day calls to prayer (instead of hearing church bells marking the hours).

Oda fotoğraftakiler gibiydi, yatak rahat ve oda genel anlamda temizdi. Ancak ışıkları açınca gelen tiz ses, gece bizi rahatsız etti. Bir diğer sorun ise duşta ılık su açılmıyordu, ya kaynar ya da buz gibi su vardı, bu bizi çok zorladı.
