The Celine is a well-kept converted Ottoman property located in a very nice central location, close to historical places and public transportation, We stayed here twice over the past month on our Istanbul to Athens and back to Istanbul legs o our trip. It is a small property, so the staff gives you a very personalized experience. I can't say enough about the Manager of the property Nezvat who was very helpful in helping us with anything we needed during both our stays. We stayed in a room in the front which could get a little noisy if you are jet lagged so at our request we got another excellent room overlooking the Bosphorus Straits. The rooms are spacious and very clean and well equipped. The breakfast is very hearty and the young man (forget his name) made me one of the finest cups of Americano coffee. The breakfast selection is also good. The Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, and Topkapi Palace are all within walking distance and so also is the trolley. You can buy a Turkey Kart or multiple trips and buy the card at the Sultanahmet station nearby. Nevzat and other hotel staff helped book fixed rate cabs to and from the airport and the fare is 1,000 Turkish liras. If I visit Istanbul again, will definitely stay at Celine Hotel again.

The staff were super friendly and went out of their way to help! Breakfast was very good.Although our room was on the street it was fairly quiet at night. Bed and bath were comfortable.

We fully recommend the Celine Hotel Ottoman for a stay in Istanbul. It is within walking distance of many of the old town attractions and The Grand Bazaar. The accommodation is excellent, beautifully furnished and very clean. The breakfast buffet is also very good. A special mention to the staff that work in the hotel, they are very helpful and professional in their jobs. The rooms were cleaned to a very high standard, the Reception staff were superb, very helpful and gave us some good advice on the area, A great hotel. We would definitely stay there again. Top marks.

Our room on top floor faced the Bosphorus. It was very clean and modernized with a lift. The courtyard where complimentary breakfast was served is very charming and comfortable. The breakfast selection was extensive and included numerous egg options. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The old town area is packed with restaurants, shops and very walkable. The only concern for some might be the deep step in tub, as it’s not a walk in shower. You will also hear the call to prayer, but that’s part of the culture! Highly recommend staying here. If you prefer quiet rooms, request one off the street side.

The hotel is in an area very close by walking to the main historical places that we went, Sultanhamet; the tramway is also very close . Staff was very friendly and they did their best to make us feel welcome . They gave us valuable information when we inquired about anything .

Classically stylish central hotel
A fantastic restored period hotel that was very central to all the attractions in Sultanahmet. We only stayed one night and had to leave at 5am so cant comment on breakfast.

Celine exceeded our expectations
Celine is in a great location to many of the must see places in the old town of Istanbul. It was our first trip to Istanbul and we were lucky to have found this hotel. We were in an executive room and it’s big and high ceiling. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Definitely will recommend to our friends!

We enjoyed 3 nights here. It is a great location between the bazaars and mosques, very easy to walk. The room was clean. The beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was a nice way to start the day. The staff was very polite and professional. I would stay here again when we return!

The hotel is quite appealing…digitally. In person, the rooms are nice…decor and overall architecture is as described…but it’s rather oversold. When it comes to a little more than the absolute basics, the service is a bit lacking. The A/C broke on the hottest night in July in Turkey…and wasn’t fixed until 28 hours later, with several promises in between. Breakfast was pretty good—in line with the hotel nightly price. Other than that, nothing particular outstanding, except the design and interior of the dining room—absolutely gorgeous!

We stayed at The Celine for 4 nights. The front desk staff was extremely helpful and friendly. They were attentive and responsive to our queries. There were 2 issues that we had, one of which was not in their control: 1.) this was not in their control: the air conditioner in our room broke down during a heat wave. They had to wait for parts, and therefore, they moved us to another room. They were responsive and extremely apologetic. The front desk staff at the hotel are the friendliest I’ve ever encountered on holiday. 2.) this one was totally in their control. Housekeeping. The bathrooms were hardly ever cleaned. When we checked in, the toilet had a paper strip across it, indicating that it had been cleaned. When I tore off the paper strip and lifted the toilet seat lid, there was a very noticeable skid mark left by the previous guest. This made me suspect everything else - I suspect the bedsheets were not changed prior to our checking in (noticeable flakes in bed), And during our stay, it was evident that cleaning was limited to just straightening out the blankets. We had left toothpaste smeared on the bathroom counter on purpose, and it was still there when we returned to the room after touring. Overall, great front desk staff. Bu the worst cleaning by housekeeping staff ever.

Amazing, friendly and helpful Staff at this property. Marcil was especially warm and welcoming. He helped us get settled in and helped us make a few reservations and arrange taxis when needed. The hotel property is small with only a few rooms, but the rooms are nicely sized and very clean and comfortable and quiet. We really enjoyed staying here and would stay again in the future. Excellent location! Walkable to most of the main attractions in the city. Restaurants, shopping and cafes also very walkable.

Overall an excellent and authentic place to stay in Old Town, Istanbul. My only negative is very little counter space in bathroom plus bathtub/shower rim was quite high. Would be difficult for older folks or small kids to get in and out of. Our bed was so comfortable I wanted to bring it home with me and the included breakfast was excellent Turkish fare. Staff friendly and very helpful. There is no pool/gym but you are only a five minute walk from just about everything Old Town has to offer. Rooms had powerful air conditioning so you can really stay cool. Rooms quiet but you will still hear the public prayers which is part of the ambience. Lots of restaurants and shops just outside the entrance.

This is a beautiful boutique hotel in perfect location. The staff was very professional, courteous, and kind. The upgraded room (upgraded as Expedia gold member) with such comfortable bed and a small balcony overlooking the town and river made me very happy to feel the old enchanting Istanbul. High quality free breakfast at a lovely dining area was a bonus. The location was absolutely perfect-we could just walk to all major attractions at anytime and there were many great restaurants just across the streets. I highly recommend this hotel and I will stay here again next time when I visit Istanbul.

what i like most: overall elegant home feel and ambiance, especially the dining area plus the espresso coffee machine negative: the bath tub shower stall is not elderly friendly and the hot & cold water shower fixture is quite complicated to figure out at first

Beautiful hotel in immaculately restored old building. Lovely breakfast provided in enclosed courtyard area with omelettes and eggs cooked to order. Minutes walk to major attractions like the Blue Mosque and Tokapi Palace. Highly recommended from a first time visitor.

Celine Hotel is located in the center of the Sultanahmet area which made it very convenient for visiting all the sights and markets. This beautifully renovated ottoman mansion has a glass elevator. The large room with the big size bed was very comfortable. The large bathroom was very clean and had a good selection of toiletries. The staff Mazoun (?) (evening staff) and Nevzat were extremely welcoming and helpful so were the kitchen staff. The beautiful breakfast room had a good selection plus hot food one can order. One is treated like family here. We had a wonderful 4 night stay and I would highly recommend this to anyone visiting the Sultanahmet area. Thank you for making our stay a memorable one.
