Located on a magical hill surrounded by centuries-old oaks, two kilometers from the fishing village of Lekeitio and overlooking the Bay of Biscay.
The house has a living room-dining room-open kitchen and two bedrooms and a bathroom on the first floor. On the second floor there is a mezzanine bedroom and a bathroom. Outside it enjoys a south-facing terrace overlooking the mountains of Lea-Artibai.

It is a perfect place for a family or group of friends who wants to enjoy nature (sea and mountains) and to discover the charms of Euskal Herria.

Coming home
We loved the old school building renovated with an eye for detail and all modern comfort. The location is great, half an hour's walk from the beach. Lekeitio is a pleasant town. A wonderful base to get to know the Basque nature and culture. Anne and Kerman are very hospitable and were always available if necessary. We enjoyed our moments together...their stories and hospitality !!

Memorable home in Basque Country
We travelled throughout France and Spain this trip and saw and did many memorable things but this is the place I’ll dream of coming back to. Beautiful home, lots to do in the area (although I particularly loved doing nothing at all!). Anne was very welcoming and everything was easy. Don’t hesitate to book.

We had a great stay at Anne and Keramon's beautifully converted schoolhouse. It's a great open space for a family, super clean, bbq and a cool terrace for relaxing. The location above Lekeitio, which has a great beach and loads to do, is handy for getting to lots of cool places in this part of the basque country. Finally, Anne and Keramon are great hosts, offering lots of really friendly help and advice. Go!

We loved staying in this charming renovated rural school. It had lots of atmosphere and was extremely well appointed with everything you might need. Anne and her husband were very helpful and welcoming. We appreciated their efforts to consider the environment, all very thoughtful. The surrounding area offered things to interest everyone. We would love to return.

Excellent in every way
It was a joy to be able to stay in this beautifully renovated house with so much history! Ann and Kerman were really lovely and went out of their way to make sure we all enjoyed our stay. The house is well equipped with high quality furniture, kitchen ware, it has everything you could need. We appreciated the sensitive way they have restored this old school house using natural methods and materials where possible. The town is walking distance (though we drove with our two small kids) and enjoyed exploring its charming harbour and playing on the beach there. We loved everything about this house and are missing it already!!

This is a joy of a place - 2km from the sea & surrounded by hills, coast, fishing villages & historic towns with museums & the Guggenheim, fully equipped with everything you could ask for & with Anne, who couldn't have done more.The first time we've stayed in Spain, apart from with family in Barcelona & quite one of the best cottages we've had anywhere.The Basque region is a very special place - we will definitely be returning in the not too distant future! A beautifully restored little gem especially if you like nature. Perfect
We stayed at this little gem of a property for 8 nights and could easily have stayed for another 8. Time seemed to slow down here and it is deeply relaxing. It is a beautifully restored house which has a perfect mix of the old and new. It is of such a high standard that nothing is missing - there were even drawing materials for 2 young kids. We are a family with 2 young children who love nature and it had it all - from walnuts to lemons to acorns. Our kids loved it. Unfortunately we never did manage to get up early enough to see the deer which wander around the house early in the mornings. We loved it and highly recommend it. A big thanks of appreciation to Anne and her husband for being such gracious and helpful hosts.

Wonderful holidays at Eskola 87!/Traumhafte Ferien in der ehemaligen baskischen Landschule
We had a wonderful absolute fantastic stay at Eskola 87. The house is very stylish and cosy, kitchen and bathroom equipment are very modern and the house is very clean.All four of us loved it!!! The view from the terrace and garden is superb. The landlords are very, very nice and helpful. If you want to have a very special, wonderful holiday, this is the place to go. The long trip (1400 km from Baden-Württemberg, Germany) was definitely worth it. Thank you Anne and Kerman for your hospitality. We will come back one day! Lovely spacious and well-equipped house in a great location
This charming old building has been recently renovated to a high standard and is very well equipped. It is situated on a hillside among fields and trees in a quiet location. Use Google maps or GPS to find it. The attractive town of Lekeitio is close, within walking distance or you can drive down the hill to the car park at the edge of town. Lekeitio has a supermarket and other shops, loads of good restaurants and bars, and two beaches. Both are clean and sandy. The one just outside town to the east is more attractive and there are a couple of cafes and some metered parking spaces. The property is about an hour from Bilbao airport and less to the motorway network. The coast is beautiful and it is worth exploring inland where there loads of waymarked paths form short strolls to multi-day expeditions. Nearby Gernika has a great produce market on a Monday. I thoroughly recommend staying here. The owner, Anne, speaks perfect English and is very friendly and helpful.

Wunderschönes Haus mit tollen Gastgebern
Wunderschöne Unterkunft etwas ausserhalb von Lekeitio gelegen. Die Gastgeber sind unglaublich nett und zuvorkommend. Sie wohnen nebenan und waren bei Fragen immer erreichbar. Sie haben uns viele Tips für Ausflüge gegeben. In der Unterkunft ist alles vorhanden. Wir haben zusätzlich auch Strandtücher erhalten. Die Kinder hatten sehr viel Freude an den vorhandenen Spielsachen. Wir kommen gerne wieder😊

A home away from home
We voelden ons meteen thuis en welkom in deze mooi gerestaureerde oude dorpsschool. We hebben genoten van het schitterende huis waar het ons aan niks ontbrak. Alles was netjes, schoon en voldoende aanwezig. De eigenaren zijn erg attent en brachten tips, citroenen en munt uit eigen tuin. Er is rust en ruimte en we konden lopend naar de bakker en ook de zee is op loopafstand. Daarnaast ligt het centraal om zowel Bilbao als Donostia te bezoeken. Wij komen zeker nog eens terug!

Une semaine parfaite!
Nous avons passé une semaine délicieuse chez Anne . Son accueil est des plus chaleureux et conviviaux. La location est très spacieuse, lumineuse et décorée avec soin. La propreté est au rdv et nous n'avons manqué de rien ,tout les équipements étaient disponibles et fonctionnels. au calme,bien exposé et bien situé,nous avons pu profiter de la terrasse, de le vue sur mer et sur le pays basque espagnol. Nous recommandons très chaudement la location d'Anne. Merci pour les citrons et la menthe du jardin, les mojitos étaient top!!

Wir waren zu dritt und hatten eine wundervolle Zeit (eine Woche) in dem Haus. Es ist sehr alles vorhanden, was man braucht, und noch mehr. An kalten Abenden ist der Kamin ein Traum. Die Vermieter sind sehr herzlich und wohnen nebenan und helfen bei allem, wenn sie können. Auch der Check In und Check Out liefen völlig reibungslos und angenehm. Das Haus ist eine absolute Empfehlung und wenn wir nochmal in der Gegend sind, kommen wir auf jeden Fall wieder.
