I booked this for someone else and we knew it was going to be very basic but once there it was so depressing I had to move this person somewhere else. The toilet wasn’t working properly and the back room faced an alley full of trash.

Close to everything. Clean. I didn’t like that it was close to a bar, we were traveling with kids. The night we stayed there it was very noisy at night. But I don’t know if every night it’s like that. Good place to stay for young people, not families.

It does not have wifi. And the staff was not at the desk when we got there. So we’re we’re just standing there for at least 10 mins waiting with all our things to be attended to.

The location is excellent . Right in the central park . I didnt hear any noise once in room but just step outside and you are in the middle of everything and just 2 streets away from beach. The beach is more nicer the further north you go , keep that in mind . If u want great street food and central location to parties , this is it . Also only short walk to the ferry

This property was adequate. I really appreciated that the staff took extra steps to make sure the room was ready early, bonus points for that. It does the job - provides a place to sleep while on Holbox. I would, however, strongly encourage bringing your own soap and shampoo, however. On the positive side - the location is great, easy to access from the Ferries, close to restaurants, night life, and beaches. On the downside, the property itself is not in its best shape, the WiFi didn't reach this room in particular, there were problems with water pressure in the shower. But, the room met all the requirements, and my expectations were satisfied.

This is an old fashioned. Family owned. Small hotel, across from the Plaza, 2>blocks fro the beach . And reasonably priced. If you are looking for modern..or elegance, this is not it. Simple. Safe lodging. The owners do not want to update, because they have a clientele which has been returning for years.

Horrible experience , never again , unable to log in to contact Expedia to cancel, internet not working but later found out that they managed 2 internet and one does not work ( and they know it) and the other one is slow but they did not gave me the code to contact you, also no water for shower or brushing teeth in the morning , only stay one of the 2 nightspots

It's the cheapest in town, and with that consideration, it's very nice. Family run, trustworthy, a local institution. Downsides are unreliable hot water, no wifi, busted chairs, a lot the housekeeper misses. But bed and a/c are good, that's the important stuff. And the balconies are great. BUT the front (balcony) rooms on the plaza are very loud. Even Sunday, Monday, pumping music til past midnight. The plaza can be picturesque, kids playing sports, etc. But if you are returning to Holbox after many years-- it has changed. Tons of restaurants, bars, commerce. Tons of tourists. Beaches claimed by clubs with paid seating. Selfies everywhere. I stayed at Arcos in 2009 and the plaza was tranquil, the whole island quiet and beautiful. The island and plaza have changed. But that's not Arcos's fault.

Bed sheets needed improving!
The location is perfect but the room is bad related to the expensive price. The bed sheets are horrible, really!! I hope the hotel will invest some money to change the bed sheets to give guests a comfortable stay...

Hotel Arcos....not so great
Not as clean as we hoped. Mirror in bathroom was disgusting , covered in mould, etc Sheets had a film on them and scent that was very hard to handle. Not what we had expected

You get what you pay for.
We only spent one night at the end of our week stay on the island and I would not want to stay there again. However, if all you need is a roof over your head at the beach Arcos is that. Arcos is bare bones and unpleasant to look at sort of falling apart but the beds work. The water was turned off when I tried to take a shower, but they turned it back on 45 min later and I was able to take a shower before I left. It was worth the $40 we paid for our room, but don't think you're getting a deal.

The hotel is small but right in the middle of town. Definitely a bare bones place but if all you need is a bed and a base to explore from this hotel will do the trick. The beds were firm and the sheets thinner. There was no blanket provided with the room. There was a small closet and a wall mounted tv also. The washroom was outdated but the shower had water pressure and hot water. Each of the rooms on the lower floors has its own furnished patio which was nice. The wifi signal doesn't reach all the rooms so you may have to move closer to the office to get connected.

Very basic hotel. We had no hot water in the evening. Bed sheets and towels are not in a good condition. The location is very good (7 min walk from the ferry and 3 min wall from the beach).

The hotel is right across from the main square, which is a great location for shopping and eating in the area, but this convenience is paid for at night when the bar next door continues playing music ranging in volume-- but always loud enough to be heard when you're trying to sleep-- until the early morning. The courtyard is there, but not inviting, there was a lot of construction going on when we stayed there, and it was never a comfortable space to be in. The rooms are depressing at best. The sheets and towels all felt like they had been washed but the soap had not been rinsed off, resulting in a waxy film smelling of laundry detergent on everything. We had booked the hotel for two nights but only ended up staying one, moving to a different hotel the next day. The night that we did stay we slept on our turkish beach towels, they were more comfortable, and thicker than the sheets, being wax and perfume free. I would recommend this hotel for someone who will be out of the room all day and is only planning to return to crash, late at night, after the club closes down next door.

So Bad, We FLED This Hotel!
This was perhaps the worst experience I've ever had at a hotel. I do not use "worst" lightly. The rooms are bare, the walls are cracking and the paint is peeling. The bathroom sink was falling apart and the shower curtain was missing. The screen door was missing most of it's screen and the air conditioner was old, filthy and couldn't even cool down the very small room we were in. Both mattresses were old and thin and the pillows were hard. The sheets were threadbare and mine had what appeared to be cigarette holes burned through it. The headboard had these decorative wood pieces that would turn and sounded like a goose being choked to death every time I turned over. We couldn't sleep at all because of the kids partying in the rooms around us and sitting in the table right in front of our room. I asked politely for them to keep it down (at 2am) but they were drunk and either didn't understand or didn't care. The reception lobby was closed, so there was no one to talk to about that. The curtains were so thin that you could see right into the room and we felt like we were in a fishbowl. The 3 or 4 channels on TV were barely watchable. We all decided to just leave the hotel even though we had paid for another night. It sucked that bad that I wouldn't even take the time to complain or ask for a refund. About the only good thing this hotel has going for it is it's central location and there was wifi for me to find another hotel to stay in the next night.
