(493 reviews) The Tamarind Reef Resort has the potential to be great. The views are incredible, the pool is huge and well taken care of and the restaurant has decent food. They have great bartenders and servers that work at the Deep End bar and restaurant. The rooms could use a serious deep clean and the utensils, pans, cooking supplies need a major upgrade. The coffee pot leaks all over, the one pan really needs to be tossed. The resort offers laundry service on their website but that's not the case. There was stains on the sheets. The off white plastic trashcan is so dirty. There is a rusted out safe in the room that doesn't work. It truly is a bunch of little things that need some attention. It could be a really nice resort but there is obviously some neglect that should be taken care of. (199 reviews) The check in went very well. The lady that helped us was very nice and courteous. Room was clean and the staff did a good job during the week when we asked them to clean it. The staff at the pool bar was FANTASTIC, friendly and helpful could not have asked for anything better. Drinks were very and the food was excellent. The dining rooms have a lot to work on. Food was cold or slightly warm and staff not very friendly. Some of the food was so salty you could not eat it. Thursday night at 12:10 AM we were woken up to automatic gun fire. Many of the guests heard but the was no response or explanation from the Management. There was no mistaking the sound. People were very uneasy the next day. Something should have been communicated to the guests.
