What this tunnel lacks in grandeur, it more than makes up for it with its history. This tunnel was the only ray of hope for the city of Sarajevo in the longest seize in modern day history that lasted over 3 years and 10 months. Built with basic equipment like pick axes and shovels and with only candles as a source of light, this tunnel was Sarajevo's only lifeline for food, war supplies and humanitarian aid. It was a way for the defenders to get in and for the wounded to get out of the sieged city. This is not a hotel. Nor is it an apartment that is part of a hotel establishment. It’s probably the worst place to stay at. There was no air conditioning even though we begged. The management is not local and they’re here to make money and that’s it.
