The best time to visit Ikoma is during the dry season, from late June to October, when wildlife viewing is at its peak.During these months, the weather is generally dry and sunny, making it ideal for safari activities. The vegetation is sparser, and animals congregate around water sources, making them easier to spot. This period coincides with the Great Migration, with herds of wildebeest and zebra moving through the Serengeti ecosystem, often passing close to Ikoma. This is an excellent time for those keen on seeing large numbers of animals.Another good period to consider is the short dry season in January and February. While it's a shorter window, the weather is pleasant, and it's a great time for birdwatching as migratory birds are present. This period also offers a chance to see the wildebeest calving in the southern Serengeti, which is a truly special experience. For travellers prioritising comfortable weather and prime wildlife viewing, the long dry season is your best bet.
