What activities should we do in Homer besides skiing?
The best area to stay in Homer for activities beyond skiing is along the Homer Spit, offering direct access to marine adventures and unique shops, or in the main town area for a mix of local culture and convenient amenities.

The Homer Spit is a long, narrow landform extending into Kachemak Bay, acting as the heart of Homer's marine activity. It's home to the Homer Boat Harbor, where most fishing charters, wildlife tours, and water taxis depart. Many accommodations on the Spit offer stunning bay views, superb for a relaxing evening after a day on the water.

The main town area, situated off the Spit and up the hill, provides a different experience. It's where you'll find the Pratt Museum, which showcases local history and art, and various local eateries and breweries. It's also a good base for exploring the local art scene, with several galleries featuring Alaskan artists.
