We basically had the most beautiful 2-bedroom house to ourselves and the cost was unbelievably cheap. We stayed only 2 nights and if I had to do it again, I would have skipped the 3 day hotel in Akureyri and just traveled from here. Holmavad is a great place to just stay and relax and was wasted on us since we spent all day exploring. This house offers horses, sheep, and 2 friendly border collies to pet. Be careful since they will bring you things to throw so they can fetch them. Once you start, you may spend hours playing with them! Who needs to sightsee?
