We were given the room right above the lobby and street facing. It was extremely noisy. Having a family with young kids, the early morning karaoke guy and late party-goers really dampened the stay. The morning buffet was good. Lots of selections. It is a great location though.

The staffs is so rude; The front staffs watch out every single step when we’ve wait our taxi after we checking. It seems you can use any stuffs like plate or glass. For me if you pay for this price; you should go somewhere better services.

I didn’t like how I booked a deluxe room with a queen bed and got DOWNGRADED to a standard room with 2 twin beds. I didn’t realized I got downgraded until after I checked the booking after I already checked out.

Decent place. Breakfast less than expected for price. Personally have stayed multiple times in the area and feel this was ok, but overrated/overpriced for what it is. I think. Lose to $30 US price expectancy for what it is. But not a bad place and staff was good.

This hotel stay was nice and close to Ben Thanh Market. However, if you are looking for something a bit more modern, this hotel is not badly kept, however the guestrooms could be more updated. Great for the price! Awesome service!

The hotel very near eating places and malls. Its not along a busy street and somehow this is what we like about it. It has modern design to its room and its clean. This is the 2nd time we’ve been here. My constructive feedback would be for the staff to be more relational. They were very good in processing checking in and all but might be good if they relate to guests some more.

The property was located in a very busy area. Lots of markets and places to eat. The hotel itself is clean but the constants banging and drilling from renovations next door was very annoying. The walls are very thin. Some rooms has sewage smells lingering on and off. Overall the hotel was a good stay cause of the friendly staff.

It's conveniently located near Ben Thanh market, but compared to other properties closed by, the hotel condition is pretty bad. The faucet is leaking water to the floor. The floor carpet is dirty. Also, there was a guy smoking on the hall way.

The area is noisy. The amenities are poor. Female receptionists were nice while the male receptionists were rude and ignorant. The first room we checked in was absolutely gross and dusty. After changing the room, the new room was clean but the water hose was rustic and dripping all over the bathroom while we were showering. Will not recommend here!

We had a pleasant 2 night stay at the Uptown Hotel after a 24 hour flight. The location is convenient to shopping and eating. The room is very clean, small but adequate for sleeping, comfortable beds and amazing pillows. Great air conditioning! The shower had some leaking issues. The toilet had little pressure. The restaurant was not open, but we ate in town. The staff was very helpful and kind.

Location is very strategically located. Though room is not big, it's well equipped and cozy. The bed and pillows are soft and it makes it tough to just get out of bed every morning.

The location is phenomenal. Steps away from Ben Thanh and other sites, all within walking distance. The breakfast buffet was delish and the staff are soooo nice. I suppose it is a tad noisy but that's everywhere in Ho Chi Minh! It is all a part of the fun. Really great shoe store two doors down where I got gorg wedges for 220,000 VD ($11 CAD) and there's a convenience store right by to get giant bottles of water for 10,000 VD. There is also some seating out front where you can have coffee and beer and people watch. Couldn't recommend this place enough xo.

Great hotel for the price. In a great location close to Nguyen Hue walking street and Ben Thanh market. Complimentary breakfast was filling. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room and bathroom was clean. Wifi and AC was good.

The Uptown Wins
I visit Vietnam yearly. I generally stay near Ben Thanh Market. Uptown Hotel is literally block away. The Hotel was very nice and clean. The room I received had two twin size beds and a large window to um nothing lol. It was literally small blocked of walkway. The room was very modern and up to date. (Most hotels in this area are generally dated imo) The A/C unit worked so good I had to turn it off burrr. The bath room was very nice, but not practical with the tub. The tub was kind of high to get into and out. The shower head(s) leaked a tad bit around the tub causing the water drip onto the floor. (The floor had a drain so not really a problem until you stepped down from the high tub could easily slip) The hot water worked well! The bed felt great! Pillows also. I generally dont like beds in Vietnam coming from the US but this one was great. The noise level was very good when it came to street noise since being in a busy area. You could hear some other people in their rooms if they were being loud enough. Breakfast is served 8-10am and is buffet style. The food was very good! Clean and fresh. A good amount to choose from. The staff was very friendly and helpful!. I very much would recommend this hotel to anyone!

One of the best hotels I stayed at in Saigon for the price. Location was great! Front desk was very nice and professional. Lobby and room was new and clean. Breakfast selection was good. Now for a couple of improvement points: 1) house keeping was very loud. Yelling and screaming at each other early in the morning (7AM). 2) breakfast staff don’t smile. They seem upset whenever you request for things. Other than this, Uptown was great! Would stay again!

Staff was very friendly and helpful, centrally located but those are the only positives. I read the reviews and saw many people complaining of it being loud but decided to try anyways since it was just for the night. We got no sleep. Was abruptly awoken by so much noise that sounded like someone repeatedly throwing a tennis ball at the wall followed by banging a wrench on the pipes, followed by 10 people aggressively chopping food on a wooden cutting board and hammering 100 nails into the wall that my bed was on. Seriously this went on from about 6am until I couldn’t take it anymore at 9am and left. When I asked the staff why it was so loud they said “sorry construction” if that’s the case they should have offered ear plugs or at least warned guests so we could bring our own solutions. On top of that the room has no windows which I thought would be nice due to long travel and thought it would help us sleep but when I got there it was just claustrophobic and I kept panicking about what would happen if there was a fire since there’s no fire sprinkler or alarm in the room. I wouldn’t recommend staying here until the “construction” is finished. Otherwise, will meet very basic needs.
