I stayed here on the night Aomori Prefecture experienced the 7.6-magnitude earthquake, and the hotel staff handled the situation exceptionally well. They provided clear instructions in both Japanese and English, stayed calm and professional, and made sure guests felt safe and reassured throughout the night. By the next morning, everything was running like normal, which was impressive given the circumstances. They even had the shuttle running to get me to the airport without any issues. Great service, excellent hospitality, and a hotel that truly cares about its guests. I would absolutely stay here again." We missed the peak fall leaves but that did not detract from the natural beauty of this area and we still enjoyed the waterfalls of Oirase gorge and the small loop around Tsuta pond greatly. If anything the onsens were even more enjoyable in the cold weather, and we were grateful to have the opportunity to stay in such a historic and well-kept ryokan.
