Dirty and Run Down
The good - our condo was ready two hours early.
The bad - we spent those two hours cleaning. The unit smelled liked mold and mildew the minute you walked in. A gallon of bleach and a bottle of mildew remover later it was livable….there was black mold all over the vents on all three a/c units. We took those apart to clean and saw the coils/fins/filters were wholly covered with enough lint and dirt to render air circulation extremely inefficient, much less putting said dirt in the air. You can tell preventative maintenance is NEVER done. Walls are more than scuffed. Remotes don’t have working batteries. Sinks are clogged. We called we were told the maintenance man was off sick. No backup maintenance for a company who manages so many units?!!
The unit floors were filthy too. Sock bottoms were black within 5 minutes. No way I was walking barefoot. The management company advised they don’t clean items the owner provides, so enjoy the bathroom rugs full of hair or the bed quilt with blood stains- they aren’t washed between guests. Only sheets and towels are switched out. Living room furniture and rug was filthy, as well. Do you need extra bedding, it’s on the dirty floor in the closet. Maybe use a dresser drawer to store extra linens.
We love Ocean Dunes and were backed into this unit at the last minute due to the sale of our usual location. Don’t rent through Vacation Time of Hilton Head. Their units are not clean and not well kept.
