We had a lovely visit, however the driveway was a bit harder to navigate this time. It’s a very steep and gravel drive. We had our SUV which struggled, as it’s not a 4-wheel drive. Everything you need to have a great time. We enjoyed it. There are two things to note: first, the driveway, as advertised really is a bear. Read their advice carefully and take it slow. Second, the spiral staircase is another take it slowly and carefully. The location is great -- certainly walkable to town with only a short stint on a less pleasant part of the road. The communication was beyond excellent. We contracted to stay in one of the properties and on arrival it was not ready. Emily quickly and graciously offered the next door property and bought us a drink for our trouble. The TV offerings were great for streaming, but no live news. Make sure you bring an eye mask if you're light sensitive... Lots of uncovered windows to enjoy the beautiful nature setting. A very close drive to Main Street in Highlands.... though not the safest walk at night with dark streets and no sidewalks. Host was super responsive and the house had everything we needed. Absolutely adorable, newly renovated chalet, walking distance to downtown but secluded by trees and mountain laurel so you feel far away.
