Idyllic with horses and deer roaming in the fields. We enjoyed the yard where the kids ran around, explored, and played volleyball. The room was very clean and had everything we needed and then some. You can tell that the host has put a lot of thought into making it as convenient as possible. She even brought her horse over for the kids to see. My kids slept on the sofa bed and we were very comfortable. We accidentally locked our keys in the car and had to wait for roadside assistance to come open it—I was worried we were too far in the boonies and it was Sunday, but it went fine. The property is very close to Custer State Park and Mt. Rushmore and was a great home base for sight-seeing. Although we thought the house was perfect The several mile road was red dirt and because it rained my car had red clay in wheel wells and my car was a mess. Hermosa has a little grocery store so there is no need to go to Rapid City. The host was easy to work with. We wanted to add a day to our trip, messaged the host and boom, it was taken care of. It was very clean and comfortable, and felt like home. We enjoyed the fire pit at night and the location was great for playing tourist during the day.
