The hotel is nice and clean, the staff is friendly. However all the amenities are run down. Yet the location is very good. So close to the city center, the port, the railway station, and the metro/ tram stops. There is a major supermarket right under the hotel and a number of cafes and shops, which is very nice for last minute things and necessities. The rooms did not have USB charge ports, but the staff was nice to loan a charger to me. Many thanks for that.

The only thing that wasn’t clear to me when I booked (and I should have confirmed) was about parking. There is paid parking across the street with underground tunnels connecting the hotel to the garage and the mall but it took a while for us to figure it out.

This visit really fell short. On Expedia says they have a gym. When I got there they said there was no gym but could pay 15 euros per day to visit another gym nearby. They need to adjust their listing since it’s inaccurate. Rooms weren’t clean, dust balls in the corners and overall very worn. Shower soaked the whole bathroom and often would go very hot without adjusting the temp. Safe in room wasn’t working. I had to ask three times and wait two days for someone to come. Turns out the English instructions were just wrong. I wouldn’t suggest booking this hotel, one frustration after another. I shared my concern and they said since I paid through Expedia they couldn’t do anything. Overall very disappointed. I hope Expedia will do something about this experience.

Great location - very near the main railway station and with a tram stop outside, good sized room, quiet and came with a most excellent breakfast. We would certainly stay again if back in Helsinki.

The bathroom was very compact, but it worked. Seems to be the nordic standard. The included breakfast more than made up for it. A full buffet breakfast. Wonderful.

This area was walkable to the Christmas Market, which was the whole reason we stayed an extra night on our trip to Finland. It's also near a Starbucks and Hard Rock Cafe for souvenirs and to see festive Christmas decorations in town. It's also just a stone's throw away from the main Helsinki train station from which you can take the train to the airport. So location wise, this is perfect! There was no need to take a taxi, which is super expensive in Helsinki. The hotel itself is average. The Scandic brand has not been updated since the 80s it seems. But very clean and adequate. We left earlier than when breakfast was served, so we don't know how the breakfast is. But we love our room. Lots of restaurants to choose from nearby. I would stay here again for practical purposes!

Lovely hotel, great location, very friendly staff
Fantastic location. Very feiendly staff and super helpful. Our little daughter was sick and needed to go see a doctor. They looked up the nearest one for us and showed us how to get there.

Nice room, slightly retro feel, and it's an older building but nice touches. Room clean and functional, great value for the location. Can walk to the main station within 5 minutes. Friendly check in team. The only negative is windows that don't open. What's with that? Hello management - some fresh air would have been nice.

A good walking distance from everything
The location is great whether you are a solo traveler or a group of friends or family. Great walking distance to and from the Helsinki Central Station, Stockman department store or even the Helsinki Cathedral. Breakfast is good, easy and convenient. Definitely was a good idea to mark down what time you would come down for breakfast as it could be super busy.

So very disappointing
Had to change room as the bed was broken, loud air handling unit in the room we couldn’t turn off, every day the room cards had to be reprogrammed. The room service threw away some of my things that weren’t rubbish but they did pay to replace them. The hotel is in dire need of updating and really let’s the Scandic name down. Simply the worst hotel I’ve had in Helsinki and I’m a regular business visitor. Worst issue was all my clients followed my lead and booked the same place! Breakfast was fantastic and the showers were strong and hot, outside that unfortunately I really recommend you avoid this one.
