Although it is some distance from the city, the location of the hotel to the close proximity of mall and cinema made it convenient to shop up till closing and watch a late night movie. The room in the new wing was fresh and comfortable. Enjoyed the large window with a view of the forest and the modern smart TV. Breakfast gets crowded quickly. The options look alot but food is basic and taste average.

Friendly and Helpful
One of the friendliest and helpful front desk staffs! Early check in accommodations were made. A terrific breakfast was available at 0400 AM! The proximity of the mall, sauna/water park was perfect, allowing for a restful 20 hour layover!

Nice but too complicated
It was impossible to find reception. Finally we found it (there was a couple with same problem), we had to take a number which we released in couple of minutes. No signs about arrangement anywhere. To get a free paring we had to insert cars reg,nro to self check in desk but the computer didnt work. Reception was annoyed when I went back and asked about it... Wouldnt stay never again!

had to request a 2 hour extension on check out, and it was the first time in travelling the world that I had to pay €20 - every other hotel allows it once there is no immediate changeover of room, without charge

Quick 2 night family visit from San Diego.

Nice and convenient location
Nice rooms with modern decoration. Many rooms in the hotel and is a bit confusing to get to the room. The location is very convenient, near the airport, inside a shopping mall and with restaurants around.

Short staffed on Sunday. Rang multiple times before arriving at hotel but no answer. Basic things Tootpaste, shaving kit, slippers etc missing. Gym and Spa is a third party company in the shopping mall where you have to pay €10 for access each time. Overall Hotel it was clean and staff were friendly.

In the standard rooms there are no toothbrush, shaving kit and slippers including but can be picked up from the front desk if necessary. For the slippers and bath robes there is an extra charge for the standard rooms. In superior rooms, suites etc slippers and bath robes are included. Huge rooms, fantastic sound insulation
Very clean and very spacious rooms. Great facilities within the complex, from kids’ play areas (bouncy castle, climbing frames, basket ball etc available) to an aqua park, as well as a good selection of restaurants. Less than 20 min by taxi to Linnanmaki too! Brilliant selection of foods available at breakfast, including a good choice of healthy food items. My only grumble was the quality of pillows, which I mentioned to reception at the end of my stay. I should have mentioned this sooner as apparently I could have obtained different pillows on request. Aside from this the stay was great. Great service too! Would definitely stay again, especially as the rooms on the new side at least are huge for the price and very good quality. Only 7 min by taxi to the airport too! The sound insulation is unbelievably good, I didn’t hear a peep from anywhere!

I love that all the shopping you could enjoy is available at the malls that are attached to the hotel. Also getting too and from the airport is easy on public transportation.

Sokos Flamingo Helsinki
It was good overall but I would have preferred a Queen or double bed instead of 2 singles. The only other choice was a King bed but you had to pay for breakfast and my stay was 33 nights which would have run quite expensive. However I would book this hotel again.

The hotel was incredibly clean and nice.The building houses numerous restaurants and shopping outlets. There is also bowling and a putt putt course. There is plenty to do here without ever going outside. My only grip is the awkward layout. Depending on your room number, you have to take an elevator to the 2nd floor then walk across the hotel to get another elevator up. However, that isn't for every room number. For example, not all rooms on the 4th floor have to go to the 2nd elevator. It's not a huge deal, but it was more of an annoyance since my room number did include traversing the hotel and getting on a 2nd elevator.
