"The room was a great size and nice quality bedding and towels. Great shower. Not much available in terms of food and drink. They offer a continental breakfast (which I didn't have time for) but no restaurant. Some limited beverages available at check in desk. I'd happily stay there again."

"We have stayed at this LASALA in San Sebastian many times in the past 8 years and have rated it one of our top hotels in Europe. No longer. From the moment we entered we were aware of a coldness and lack of excitement. Being told to sit in low lying seats for reception and check in, signing a list of “hotel rules” almost being lectured by the staff on what to do and not to do put all of us in a contradictory and defensive mood. Looking around the lobby and restaurant we noticed no one was there. And this was true over the 5 days of our stay. When questioning the staff they appeared timid and unsure to make any comments other than changes in both decor and walk in policy for dining or cocktail had been made. The hotel went from an atmosphere of high end vibrancy to dull lifelessness. The menu offered was limited and the food was marginal. Let me also emphasize a few things. The hotel was clean and the restaurant, rooftop bar, and cleaning staff were very good. Reception staff was not cold to say the least."

"All was well except for-the disappearance of the hotel airport shuttle upon our airport arrival. It is not well marked nor consistent about keeping a schedule. I would advise all tired travelers to take a taxi ( very inexpensive) and save yourselves the trouble of connecting with the “mystery “ shuttle."

"1- I reserved a room that was classified at Expedia as king size/2 twin bed. I forgot to request a king size bed but I am normally given at check in, upon request, a room with a king size bed at any hotel. When I asked for a king size bed, the receptionist said no king size bed was available for the category I booked for but at a higher category only where I had to pay extra. He was very rude and strict and I had to respond the same but had to pay the pay the extra amount. 2- The so called higher category room had windows covered by metal mesh so you could not see outside. 3- Room’s design was quite depressive and cold. 4- Water accumulated at the shower drainage when taking shower, so I had to stop the water and wait for the water to go so I could continue my shower. 5- Hotel’s website at Expedia said the hotel had paid parking but apparently it was a covered public parking whose entrance was very difficult to find as there was no signs at all. So I had to make several rounds. Overall it was a very unpleasant stay."
