The hotel was situated very conveniently to the train station. I understand it is an older building, but the carpets seemed in need of updating. The towels were also pretty old. The ceiling in our shower appeared to have a good amount of mold on it. When booking a room there I would advise to ask for a room farther away from the bar so that you do not hear the noise or smell the smoke if you like to have open windows .the breakfast was ok, scrambled eggs were prepared nicely as well as nice hot coffee. No frills or special things to say about it.

The Hotel is close to the Train station. I was worried as the other reviews were not good but i had no issues. The hotel is quite old but the facilities were good. Breakfast was good. The Staff were helpful.

Excellent location for a visit in Hamburg, right next to the Othmarschen S-Bahn station. Several old villas converted into a hotel with rooms of different sizes and styles.

Bad experience but the hotel did refund me. I booked a basic single room, described as 194 sq ft, Free WiFi, Balcony, and a nice looking photo on the website. What I got was a musty attic garret that reeked of cigarettes, had zero wifi, and was about he size of a small bathroom. I was very upset and asked the receptionist to give me a different room and they said nothing else was available. The next day they gave me a new room and refunded me for the prior night. The new room was totally lovely and matched the photo, expect the lights in the bathroom didn't work. It had a nice big window overlooking a peaceful garden. But i had spent the first night in real misery, trying to book another hotel and freaking out because my booking was non-refundable and I thought I was going to lose my money. And I had not internet and I needed to work. So I feel like I lost a day of my vacation in misery and panic and I'm really not happy about it. Also I cannot believe that they'd rent that disgusting tiny closet to anyone. It's not fit for anyone to stay there. I'm glad I was refunded the $120.00 I had paid for the room but it still didn't give me back a day of my life and my precious vacation time.

Ich bin oft in Hamburg und muss kurzfristig immer mal in ein Hotel. Diese Woche muss in Hamburg aber wieder mal eine Messe oder Veranstaltung gewesen sein, denn alle Hotels waren über 250 bis teilweise 350 € pro Person/Nacht. Deshalb habe ich dieses Hotel Schmid ausgesucht, da es nur 145 € gekostet hat. Dafür, dass man in Othmarschen lebt, welches bekanntlich eines der teuersten Wohn-Viertel in Hamburg ist, fand ich den Preis super. Nun ja, das Hotel ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber man hat alles da was man braucht. Einen ruhigen Schlafplatz, TV, Bad und Dusche mit Frühstücksbuffet. Die S-Bahn ist auch nur einen Steinwurf entfernt und somit hat man einen sehr guten Anschluss an das Hamburger Netz sowie zum Flughafen. Was für mich auch äußerst wichtig war, ist dass der Parkplatz umsonst war. Wo hat man das schon in Hamburg!? Wer also keinen Luxus will, ein gutes Hotel für einen günstigen Kurs buchen möchte, in einer tollen Lage, der ist genau richtig hier.

Das Hotel besteht aus mehreren alten Häusern. Direkt gegenüber ist eine Bushaltestelle und ein S Bahnhof, sowie ein gutes Steakrestaurant ( Block House ) und ein Döner Imbiss, der bis nach 0:00 Uhr noch geöffnet war. Zudem gab es noch eine Art Kneipe direkt neben dem Hotel. Wir waren zu einem Konzert Besuch in Hamburg . Die Anbindung mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln war ideal . Es gab einen kostenlosen Parkplatz direkt hinter dem Hotel . Das Frühstücksbüffet war gut und es wurde immer zügig nachgelegt . Das Inventar ist in die Jahre gekommen, aber alles war sauber und ordentlich. Zugegebenermaßen hat der erste Eindruck uns etwas abgeschreckt, aber die sehr gute Verkehrsanbindung , der Imbiss , die Kneipe nebenan, alles passte sehr gut zu unserem Aufenthalt. Für uns war es perfekt.

Lage ist gut. Öffi und Gastronomie in allen Preisklassen vor der Tür. Spaziergehen durch Villengegend bis Elbe macht ohne Mühe Spaß. Für kurzen Städtetrip 1bis 2 Nächte gut geeignet. Parkplatz inklusive.

Man fühlt sich nicht willkommen. Zimmer nicht aufgeräumt. Glas und Handtuch gebraucht vom Gast zuvor. Es fehlten frische Handtücher. Der Müll war nicht geleert.Das Fenster nicht zu kippen, Tür schwer zu öffnen.
