We absolutely loved our stay here. The traditional rooms are lovely. Some bits feel a little dated but it is part of the charm. The staff are fantastic! They were all friendly, welcoming and helpful. The food was unbelievably good. A traditional kaiseki meal every night with exquisite fish that I would never get the opportunity to try elsewhere. We both loved the outdoor onsen. It was really relaxing after a day out and about. The gardens were beautiful too. Baths are not huge so i can foresee them getting crowded potentially, but our time was great. The private spa in our suite definitely was a huge plus. In the heart of nature, with beautiful greenery and onsens - I felt very relaxed. The customer service is incredible and the meals are a really amazing experience. The hotel is very traditional and feels slightly old and musty but this was charming to us. We stayed in the Sakura room which was lovely and clean with a fantastic private onsen bath, as well as access to the shared open air bath. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful with good English. We had excellent Japanese multi-course dinner and breakfast provided for both days.
