The hot spring at the roof was a wonderful experience. I can imagine how popular and convenient it is. Even though the hotel is dated, it’s really convenient for 1st time Hakodate visitors.

Great location next to bus/train station
Great location across from bus and train terminal. Good front desk service. Very clean room but the standard twin was a little on the small side for two people, but room was functional. Deluxe twin might have been worth the extra cost if we had stayed more than 1 night.

A convenient place just around the train station
A convenient hotel just around the JR station. The room is spacious by Japanese standard. The room and amenities were satisfactory. Staff speak good English.

Very nice property. Nothing too fancy, but extremely convenient. Right next to the JR station, with food options very close by. Only a few minutes walk to the morning market seafood area.

The onsen was a nice surprise. Location was excellent. Toilet was a bit small and the sink was located at a very weird angle, making it hard to even brush our teeth.

Good location, easy to access.
The location is excellent, just in front of the Hakodate JR station and bus station, 2 minutes walk. The room was quite small, as usual for Japanese hotel, but provided everything you need for a night. I stayed on the 12th floor which has very good view from the window. There is onsen on the 13th floor,but sadly with no view. Breakfast is not good enough, compared to other hotels in the same level. Staffs were helpful.

Recommended cos cos to JR n bus terminal n also tram station. Hotel staff are good. Hotel breakfast is really average only. Hotel bed good though not much space for luggage. Got ample charging points at bed side.

Convenient hotel by local train station.
Very clean room, of a pretty average size by North American standards, but spacious for Japan. Very clean bathroom. Polite and helpful service. Included breakfast was fairly average, but free so no real complaints there. Extremely close to the JR train station and local bus station, so very convenient to get around.

Convenient Location
JR station and bus terminal is right across the hotel. Morning market is next door to the station. Get the bus/tram day pass. Stops near major tourist attractions. Includes the bus to Mt. Hakodate. Rooms are on the smaller side. Onsen area needs to be refurbished.

Location, free breakfast, WiFi, and an onsen!
"Ekimae" means across from the train station, which it is. It is also across from the Morning Market, a tram station, and near the waterfront. Then add in a free buffet breakfast, free WiFi, and an onsen. What more could you want?

Great location, but the facility is really old
I booked this hotel for its convenient location, and it really is 2 minute walking distance from the JR station, the bus station, the tram station, and the morning seafood market. The room is very small even for Japanese standard, and facility appears to be very old. The guest seems to be mostly foreign tourists (I am amazed how people were able to fit two adults and two children in a room) and older Japanese tourists. Consider the great location and the cost, this is a not a bad hotel for a short stay.

Dont waste your trip here unless visiting the Morning Market. When you find the hotel, make sure u regconize the building from website or memories the hotel name in Jap. They do not have English Name logo for your easy find.

Hotel was near the JR Station and can be seen from the JR station itself. It is also next to the bus terminal. Very convenient location if you're just transiting or intending to travel by bus. However, the convenience stores, restaurants and shops are all on the opposite side of the hotel requiring to cross the bus terminal to get there. Breakfast provided was simple but hearty; a good start to each morning. Breakfast ends at 9am, and they'll start clearing the food by 9am. Overall pleasant experience.
