"The lobby had a funky smell such that I had to hold my breath every time I passed it. The check-in was fast, but our non-smoking room had cigarette odor. Eventually, after the front desk clerk worked quickly to resolve everything, but my family could not get adjacent rooms any longer. I liked that our room had a window that could open and fresh air could enter to clear the musty smell. We did not dine at the hotel, but it was conveniently located to the Peace Park, bust stop and restaurants. "

"The hotel is beautiful, and the room was very comfortable. I would probably stay here again. The hotel is the last/first stop on one of the bus lines, which made it convenient for sightseeing. The bus is only every 30-40 minutes though, so you have to time things out or wait for the next bus. The island has a nice walking path around it, which was a fun addition to staying at this hotel! We had two issues with staying at this hotel. The public baths cost 2000 yen per person, and are very strict about no tattoos. We were not able to use this amenity even with tattoo covers, unfortunately. The hotel has a laundry service but does NOT have on-site laundry machines to do your own laundry. We were able to take the bus/walk to a nearby laundromat, because the laundry service was pretty expensive. "

"The breakfast was great. Staff was great. Bath was nice. The room was a little less high quality in terms of finishes than I would expect from a place at this price level. And the dinners were quite disappointing relative to the price level and other meals we had with half board at other ryokans/hotels during our stay in Japan. Under seasoned and just not very excellent. Also disappointed that the dinners were French cuisine focused."
