Located on Fort Morgan, Fort Sun is close to many restaurants, golf courses, and other things to do, feels away from it all (but is only a short drive to all the hubbub on Gulf Shores itself), and is often a more cost-efficient choice for those who seek something a little more laid back. Plus, as an added bonus, our Fort Morgan vacation homes are not currently subject to the same restrictions on setting up umbrellas and other amenities overnight as those in Gulf Shores itself. 2x 7BR 5.5BA. POOL? You Bet! Private pool PER SIDE, sheltered under the home. No sharing with the other side. HUGE wide open beach area! The pool is open all year, and is 16x16' L-Shape, 3-4' deep. The homes share a deck that takes you down to the expansive white sand beach. Plenty of room for beach volleyball or whatever moves your group! A secure, interconnecting doorway allows large groups to use both sides of this lovely home to host up to 48 people! PARKING There is available onsite parking for 4 cars per side. Good stackers can pull off more. Bad stackers? Well, not so much! WIFI/INTERNET YES! We have an awesome Eero mesh network to ensure excellent wifi coverage throughout this spacious home. Spotty coverage is always an issue for big places. Sure internet may work next to the router in the living room, but what about the far reaches of the home!? That's why we installed a multi-node mesh network. And what's the internet like? It is generally solid and ran > 100Mb down the last test--sufficient for several simultaneous video conference sessions for remote work and education. Internet is, of course, an amenity and subject to service provider outages (and guests "troubleshooting" it), especially with the havoc the sand and salt wreak on cabling and facilities, no more so than any other home on the beach though, and likely better since its close in and new construction! SOAPS, TOWELS, COFFEE, ETC ETC As with most beach homes in the area, the local mgt co provide what they call a "starter supply" of soaps, toilet paper, and paper towels, etc. Enough for the first night to get you going! Please plan to bring or purchase additional supplies, and any cleaning or pantry supplies you may need, or to make a quick run to the store (or have it delivered!). You will want to bring beach towels or beach chairs as well. Because mgt cos will not generally support them, grills are not provided, though they are sometimes inherited from prior guests: your mileage may vary on this, and we usually assess and then go snag a small charcoal kettle when we come down ourselves. Also of note: at many locations, you may find the bunk beds (and certain other beds) are not fully made--instead a bedding pack is provided. This is a common practice for the local management companies, which is both green (if the bedding is not used, it doesn't have to be laundered) AND more sanitary--housekeeping does not have to crawl on the bunks and so on to make the beds. Also also... all our homes have drip coffee makers and most now have Keurigs as well. No smoking please, but feel free to eat lots of shrimp, bask in the warm sun, and have a great time! The location was great. The fact that they had somone clean the pool under the house daily said something about the rental. I liked that there were plenty of pans and silverware and 2 refrigerators. The only thing that I could say anything negative is the area leading to the beach right off the deck landing was very dirty and my wife stepped on something that cut her foot. The beds were comfortable and house was clean. The management was quickly responsive to our needs for any repairs. The supplies are minimal as listed so bring extra supplies you want for your family. We had family join us for 2 weeks of our stay including young children. The house was PLENTY big and worked well for remote work areas, sitting on the deck, very easy to get on and off the beach with the direct beach access - so when littles were "done" it was easy to return to the house. highlights include: watching dolphins daily sunrise AND sunsets - from the bedroom, deck or beach your choice kite flying walks on the beach great recommendations from the owners as to eating out, coffee, etc..... kitchen was well stocked with coffee maker, crock pot, blender, pots/pans, dishes etc The house was even better than the photos - lots of improvements ##### Amanda B. One of the bathrooms on the second floor did not have a shower head and the power kept tripping off in one of the other bedrooms. It was advertised as having a grill which was not true It was clean overall. The location was perfect.
