Typical hotel with lousy rooms and bad policy
Rude lady reception, good valet, good housekeeping lady. Worn out condition and lobby without enough seats even though spacious. Mentality of staffs need to be more guest orientated. Room provided without bed for 2 adults + 2 child’s and charged RMB 150 for a rollaway bed. Worst experience is the constant drilling / hacking of upper floors during our entire stay.... should not even rent out a room like this. Overall experience is very bad.

Clean, Big Rooms, Western Accomodations
Nice hotel. Inside elite suite is on par with Hilton. Lobby is nice but nothing special. 2nd stay here on business from USA. Staff is helpful but 1 in 10 speak english. Breakfast is eatable. Metro right outside. If you need to be in this area of GZ it is good option and a good value.

The hotel was out of water.
The hotel was out of water and the staff didn't inform the customers. The weather was very hot and humid. There was no water for shower.

Two nights at Guangzhou New Century Hotel
Room was OK but the rest of the Hotel was tired and somewhat dirty. Also the advertised Shuttle Bus to the Airport, (important reason for booking in the first place) had been discontinued. Breakfast was good.

Not living up to a 4 star international hotel
This is the first time back to this hotel for us since 6 years ago and although the town have changed quite abit but the hotel didn't seem to grow with the development except for the room rate. The staff is functioning as what they should perform as their job, the room is spacious but not really well kept. The carpet is dirty like most hotel in China but other than that, it is normal. For the money they are charging, you expect a little better. I don't think it is a hotel I will want to go back to and rather explore other newer hotel which is newer and more reasonable iin price for what you are getting.

Clean and good bed
Parts of the hotel were fancy but some of the finishing on the building seemed poor. Most importantly, the place was clean and the beds were very firm but comfortable. Some buildings in the neighbourhood were dilapidated but others were new.

hotel closed to shopping malls.
Visiting China was great, streets were very clean except the air was very bad. Coffee and bread didnt taste good but MC and KFC tasted much better than U.S.A.

Hotel is outdated, feels like from the 80s. It offered a good price and was rated 4 stars so I decided to give it a try. Made 2-day reservation and upon entering the room, there was a strong musky smell in the room. Lots of stain and spots on the carpet, I'm guessing the carpet must have been 20 years old. One wall plug did not work. I wanted to move immediately but it was already late night and taxi would have taken another 45 min to a downtown 5-star hotel, so I stayed. The next morning I asked about checking out one day early and the manager still wanted to charge for the 2nd night. It was so unbearable I decided to move anyway. When I packed up and went to check out, the manager was not there and the staff graciously charged me only for one night. Buffet breakfast was ¥40 and you get what you pay for.

Business in China
Hotels are for tourist or business travellers so they must have staff that can communicate in English. We found it very difficult to communicate during our stay.

Overall OK
The New Century Hotel is new and beautiful. There is a city and airport bus right next to the hotel. The receptionists are friendly and helpful. The saved my 80 Yuan by recommending that I catch a bus instead of utilizing a taxi service. They even had an employee escort me to the bus station and waited with me until my buss arrived. The quality, quantity, and the variety of the food and drinks available in the restaurant on the second floor of the hotel was very satisfying. The service was poor. Both mornings I slept there I had to clean up my own table. Not enough waiters and not enough urgency to do their job. Nevertheless, you will NOT regret that you chose sleeping at the New Century Hotel.

Disgusting is putting it mildly
I paid $50 for the room, it said 4 star but it was terrible. The rooms on the 8th floor were damp and had an awe full smell. The beds were the hardest I encountered and this was after I moved up to the 14th floor. The beds were no better after I complained. The picture of a glazed rat in the lift promoting some sort of meal put me off breakfast....horrible experience. You pay for what you get

Huadu Guangzhou new century hotel
Supposedly centralized location was blocked off totally by construction of the new metro system. It will not be an another few years before the station open and perhaps bring some life back to this once grandest hotel in huadu. Big hotel was less than 20 rooms full, dark and isolated is what I would describe the place at this moment. Terrible service as the housekeeping serve me drinkable ice cube in a plastic bag, really? Plastic bag? Yes and she has the cheek to say it's clean n drinkable , I should give it a try. Will not stay here again until they have upgraded all their 80s room.

I would not recommend staying in this hotel unless you absolutely have to be in this area. I was surprised by the poor service at a hotel that was supposed to be four star Chinese Gov't rated. There is no way this hotel should have that rating. We asked a passing staff ember for directions to the business center and he didn't even stop. He just pointed to a direction and kept walking. At the restaurant, the waitress had no idea what half the items on the menu were. Plus, there was general staff apathy. We asked where to take the airport shuttle in the am. The front desk lady said just go outside on the right. She made no mention that the shuttle pickup spot had changed and we had to go all the way to the street and couldn't just stand by the hotel. This caused us to miss the first shuttle and delayed our arrival to the airport. Plus, the location is poor. There is not much to do around the hotel. Maybe in a few years when the metro is done but right there this area has little for hotel guests outside of a night street market. All in all, I will never stay at this hotel again. Poor service by an in attentive staff. I almost never give poor reviews and I have been in the service industry so I tend to give service people the benefit of the doubt. Here, the new Century staff has disappointed me on many levels.

Best hotel for this part of Guangzhou city.
This hotel is in prime location when the new subway system is finished in 3 years. It will need major refurbishing at that time for the hotel rooms. The carpets are showing thier age. The bed was too hard. I folded the top blanket to give me padding on top of bed. Many fine Chinese resterants to eat at. Many interesting shops.

The condition of the hotel is no where near 4-stars, 3-stars at most. It needs a major over haul, the room is smelly but has comfy bed. Breakfast is so-so, little western choices. Big construction in front of hotel for a subway terminal. I won't return to this hotel.

Very average hotel with average service
The food was very average, the service even more so. It is not the most convenient hotel and there was construction around so the it was very hard to get a taxi when one was needed. I would not stay at this hotel again.
