Set on 40 acres of pristine land near Kurrajong, in the Hawkesbury area, we are tucked away in the foothills of the Blue Mountains. This is the perfect place for anyone looking to relax in the peace and tranquillity of the rainforest, listening to the birds and the running water of the creek. Take a walk to enjoy the natural beauty of the wild, bushland that abounds, sip fine wine picked up on your day’s travel into the valley or sit by the open fire listening to your favourite music; do as much or as little as you like. THE COTTAGE: Jacaranda Cottage, named after the shady Jacaranda trees beside it, is a traditional settler-style log cabin with two bedrooms (a queen and a twin). Fresh linen and towels are provided and the beds have electric blankets. There's a basic kitchenette and private BBQ to cater for simple meals. The cottage boasts open fire and air-conditioning/heating as well as a double bath with jets. Looking out from your veranda you can see and hear the birds in the trees and feel the calm of the spring-fed pond. THE PROPERTY: Jacaranda Cottage is one of five secluded, private, self-contained rustic cabins, each in their own separate area of forest on the property. They are available individually or as a group for up to 24 people. A tennis court is available for use up the hill at the main house. Pets welcome by arrangement. SIGHTS: Nearby attractions include the beautiful botanical gardens of Mt Tomah, quaint Kurrajong village, Richmond markets and the historic Windsor all within 10 to 30 mins drive and well worth a visit. We had the loveliest weekend at Jacaranda Cottage with our dog. Even though it was pouring rain the whole time, we loved having an excuse to stay inside all day, doing puzzles, enjoying the fire, and cooking cozy meals. Our dog loved being able to run around the big grassy area and we had fun exploring the property during breaks in the rain. We wanted a weekend away from the big city and this definitely fit the bill - no phone service or wifi made that all the better. Playing our 2 op shop DVDs in the tiny TV helped too. Thanks to Fiona for the great instructions and local suggestions as well as providing 2 big tubs of firewood and firestarters etc. We will definitely come back for a stay again :) ##### Ariel P. The Host provided just about everything we needed for our weekend away including the wood for our outdoor fire. All instructions and advice provided was absolutely spot on. The nearby national park provided us with a sensational walk down to the river and also a scenic view of the valley itself. The property was very clean and tidy, the beds were comfortable, and the amenities were very suitable. The ambience of the property made our stay most enjoyable. I would most certainly recommend a stay at this cottage or one of the others at Hidden Valley Retreat Cottages. ##### Paul T. Being able to take our dog Moby to share the experience made it even more special. I will definately return to the property, it was so nice to b hidden in nature. ##### Alison
