Cape Town City Centre6 nights4.0 star property9.0/10 - Wonderful (413 reviews)"The location is excellent - right near Kloof st. The hotel felt very safe. My room was quite large and had nice amenities. However, the property felt more like an upscale hostel than a boutique hotel. There was constantly noise coming from downstairs (music, party sounds, etc). If that wasn't enough, the fumes of fried food from the restaurant below permeated my room. Between the oily smell and the noise, I did not sleep particularly well."Reviewed August 10, 2026Roundtrip • Montreal (YUL) - Cape Town (CPT)YUL - CPT • 2 stops CPT - YUL • 2 stopsCA $4,747CA $4,145found 1 day agoper traveller - Neighbourgood Harrington

"We had a fantastic stay at De Bergkant in late July. The setting and surrounding view was stunning. We were greeted by Tracey who was manager and head chef. She could not have been more helpful. She provided recommendations on things to do in Prince Albert and places to eat, even made our dinner reservations for us. The rooms and the grounds were clean and comfortable. One of the highlights of our stay was breakfast. Tracey prepared a varied 5 course breakfast each morning that could only be...
"A hidden gem in Prince Albert. My night at the Swartberg Hotel was a highlight. It blends that Karoo charm with nice modern touches. The rooms are comfortable, the gardens and heritage feel are really special, and the staff were warm and genuinely welcoming. Dinner was excellent, local flavours especially the lamb, relaxed atmosphere, all very Karoo. Perfectly placed for exploring the pass, but also a place you just want to slow down and enjoy. I’d happily recommend it to anyone."
"Buffelsdrift is an absolute gem. We loved every moment of our stay and wish we could have enjoyed it for a bit longer. The 5 star service - from reception, restaurant (food and service), turn down service and check out - was excellent. We will be making another reservation very soon! Thank you!!"
"Unfortunately the room lacked ablution privacy which was not disclosed"
"Wish we could’ve stayed longer! A unique experience staying in a converted shepherds hut, now the honeymoon suite- beautifully converted with plunge pool & the most stunning 360 degree views- also from the shower! So peaceful & tranquil,The owners of Le Petit Karoo really went the extra mile to make us feel welcome. Beautiful dinner. Amazing value for money & would 100% recommend. Thanks Tracy & Karen, hope to see you again."
