"The Villa Bella Vista was wonderful! The room was spacious and spotless. There were very few other guests so we had the terrace all to ourselves. The view could not be better; a perfect place to watch the sunset and listen to the busker playing in front of the palace. "

You do need a car though or Uber (or both if you are not comfortable driving around the Sintra palaces in narrow and busy streets).

"This place was wonderful. Beautifully decorated, relaxing and comfortable. The view was breath taking. It was a walking distance to the beach and excellent restaurants. The walk by the cliff facing the ocean was relaxing. One can enjoy the sunset every day. Beyond all, the staff not only was friendly but they did all they could to make my stay as comfortable as possible. They really paid attention to detail and requests. They were so nice and willing to talk that I decided to stay one more day and relax. I felt at home with friends. Hopefully, I will be back one day. "

"The hotel is truly as you see it in the images! The pool is massive and the beach is wonderful. We stayed with our 11&14year olds and they thought the location was awesome, and loved the breakfast. The room we had was spacious and perfect for all of us! You can easily pop to restaurants and the grocery store (we had a car), and the views from every space are gorgeous!"
"You could not pick a more perfect spot for a family vacation in Colares. Our family enjoyed hours at the pool, trips to the beach, Sintra and Cascais, not to mention the fun spots for dinner and drinks. Jose was a gracious host who met us when we first arrived. "We chose the Barca Charm House for its location, family friendliness and wonderful reviews. Each review referred to the hospitality of our hosts and I have to agree with previous reviewers, Sandra and Eduardo were exceptional. The house is comfortable and fully equipped. There was everything you could possibly need and so much more. The only item we were unable to bring with us was a potty for our 2 year old. Sandra was immediately on the case and brought a brand new potty round which was so helpful! There is so much to see and do in the area that a week just wasn’t long enough. We left with heavy hearts. Our family are spread out over the world and time spent together is very precious. We made many happy memories in the Charm house. Thank you Sandra and Eduardo. Wishing you both health and happiness. "We chose this cottage because of the location and it was good for us. We don’t like crowds and love the coast. Sintra and Lisbon were easy Uber drives away and we got to experience staying in a picturesque cliffside village. The cottage garden was beautiful and inside had everything we needed. Our Host was great and very accessible. We had a lovely stay."
