  • Maison historique de Lustron sur un demi-acre, à seulement 12 miles de Starved Rock. Vous aurez un accès exclusif à la maison et à l'arrière-cour soigneusement pensés et préfabriqués. Cette maison tout en acier des années 1950 a un nouveau tapis, une nouvelle salle de bain et de nouveaux meubles pour offrir une escapade confortable, intime et unique. L'arrière-cour d'un demi-acre recule sur un champ où des millions de lucioles d'été jouent. À l'extérieur de la cour avant, les plus beaux couchers de soleil de la campagne se produisent tous les soirs. Situé dans une petite ville tranquille, près de quatre parcs d'État - Starved Rock, Matthiessen State Park, Illini State Park et Buffalo Rock - juste au sud d'Ottawa.

We thoroughly enjoyed this property after hiking at Starved Rock State Park. It’s a wonderful farming area. We plan to return in the Fall and hope to stay here again.

We have stayed at this property several times times. It is close enough to everything, but far enough away to give you total serenity in this little village. The host supply everything you need, and is super fast at replying, when you send her a message. You will love staying in this cute vintage Lustron home.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Being a history and architect buff, I appreciated that the home had very few alterations since it's construction. After reading so much about Lustrons, it was neat to see all the home's innovative features in person. We were also impressed with the way the house was decorated to complete the mid century theme. Due to the comfy bed, we sleep well both nights andwe also enjoyed relaxing on the rear patio. We appreciated how clean the home was. We are already planning a return trip

Fun in Grand Ridge

Great location for visiting State Parks. Exceptionally clean and well provisioned with all kinds of nice touches. We enjoyed the historical significance as well.

We loved staying at Karen’s place! It was such a cute property and the location was great!

Karen was fully equipped with anything we might’ve needed and the location of the property was perfect for us! We very much enjoyed our stay and it was a great weekend away from our crazy busy lives!

This was just wonderful. The place was charming, had so many beautiful touches, clean, quiet, calming, and full of amenities. My friend and I had a brilliant time enjoying this home and the surrounding parks. So thankful for such a great space and easy access and communication.

Great stay!

Host was very accommodating. Perfect backyard and back patio area for lounging while kids played. An amazing piece of American history to stay in for our hiking weekend trip.

Just as described, clean and comfortable home in a quiet area. Close to Starved Rock and Matthiessen State Park for outdoor activities. We spent our evenings at restaurants/bars in Ottawa. Perfect place for us, we will return often.

The home was amazing. It was clean and the furnishings were outstanding. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen fully furnished. The Lustron home was unique. The proximity to multiple state parks made it ideal. The property was quiet and quite large. I'll be back.

Great stay

This was a great setting for our girls’ weekend. The house was so well-equipped and close to downtown Ottawa and the state parks. This was actually our second time here, and I don’t expect it’ll be the last!

The lustron house is absolutely amazing! Very clean inside and out.We loved how Karen had the history of the house (newspaper article) included so we could learn more about it! Definitely would book again!

Nights at a museum

Easy check in at this unique 1950s prefab bungalow. Enjoyed learning about history of this home from the book, pictures and other documents about Lustron on site. Plenty of nostalgia with all the modern comforts. Very clean and well stocked home. This was our first visit and will definitely come back.
