  • Sunset from Grand Isle State Park, near the southern tip of Louisiana. We didn't know you could drive 1.5 hours south of New Orleans, but you can to reach this beautiful state park. Grand Isle is mostly a summer community but it was sunny and warm and nearly empty for us in early March. The RV park was a great place to stay -- one of our favorites, right next to the beach and with nature paths nearby. We walked on the beach by day, and grilled burgers and sat by the campfire at night. Blue Dolphin Inn

We enjoyed our stay at The Blue Dolphin Inn. Our rooms were very clean and comfy. The beds were very comfortable. The Inn has easy access to the beach. We would definitely stay here again.

Perfect!

We stayed at the inn...it was perfect! The inn manager was so nice and very helpful! We went during off season so it was super quiet. They have a nice little back patio area that you can sit and watch the water. We saw a ton of dolphins!

Great Stay!!

We stayed in a 2 bedroom camper on Grand Isle. It was a very clean and suitable place to stay for our vacation. The beds were clean, everything was pretty spacious. We will definitely use it again in the future.

The motel rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff was super friendly. Since there is a kitchenette, it would have been nice if there was coffee provided and some basic condiments, salt, pepper, sugar etc. Would definitely stay there again.

The beach access was a highlight, the bed incredibly comfortable, and the outdoor cooking setup was fun. Place was a bit small and the couch/futon somewhat uncomfortable but really not a big deal. Enjoyable and relaxing for sure!

I would (already have!) highly recommend Blue Dolphin to anybody! The location is perfect, across the street from the beach, the staff is so accommodating, and the cottages are extremely spacious.

They were friendly and easy to deal with. Everything was clean and well maintained. Beds were nice; tv in each bedroom. They made it a breeze to check in and out. I wont look any further than the Blue Dolphin.

Cozy, well maintained rooms on the beach

These on-the-beach, cozy, elevated-off-the-ground rooms are great for casual visits. The individual rooms for sleeping in our two-bedroom had exactly enough room for one person to get into the bed, but nothing else. There was a futon-couch in the main room along with a small kitchenette there.

Great little motel / ownership -- room size so/so

This was a great option in Grand Isle -- itself a pretty cool destination...there's not a ton to do there, but that's kind of the point...old school motels and restaurants and a nice, little used white sand beach on the gulf coast. Motel ownership was great -- really friendly, communicative, and available. The only knock on the this location is that the room sizes listed (sq ft) are way off -- the largest one offered is listed as almost 3,000 sq ft but it's absolutely no where near that...it'd be very cramped if your party is the 6-7 people it lists as accommodating. Overall would definitely recommend, just double check the size of the accommodations you're reserving.

I recently stayed at the Blue Dolphin Inn, and it was a wonderful experience. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was inviting, and the innkeeper was incredibly friendly and accommodating. The check-in process was straightforward, although you have to drive a bit further down from the inn to reach the check-in spot, which is on the left-hand side marked by the distinctive Blue Dolphin sign. Despite this, the overall experience was fantastic, and we're already planning our next visit. We'll definitely be back to enjoy the hospitality and charm of the Blue Dolphin Inn. We want to see all the places back to its full potential there in Grand Isle. Favorite place to come as a kid.

Newly renovated so strong odor of paint fumes. Place is very small. Says fits six but that is an oversell I believe. Five at best and three should be children. No coffee filters! Pull out sofa is awfully uncomfortable. Needs a better one. And ceiling fan can't operate without light on so very stuffy at night. Mount microwave for more counter room. Table is way to big for the space. Shower is lame. All fixable though. Otherwise this place is very clean, cute and location is beyond beautiful. Staff are exceedingly friendly. Local area amazing.

The rooms were cute, the beds were fine and it was a nice quiet place to stay. Always at the top of my list. We didn't stay long enough to use the outdoor cooking facility, but it would have been fun to purchase some fish at a local shop and make fish tacos. Our room was missing hand/body soap and the place could have used more hooks for hanging clothes, oh and a hair dryer.
