I’d like to tell you about our stay but unfortunately we could not make our reservation. We tried to move the reservation but hotels.com contacted the motel to see if they could and were told NO and the penalty was the loss of the single nights charge. This fell in line with the cancellation rules. But the motel called me at 8:30pm on our arrival date to ask where we were. I explained the situation and the motel said we could have received a refund if they were told of the move/cancellation AND then they were successful in rebooking the room. So, it’s hard to say who was not “serving” me. In the future, in addition to contacting hotels.com, I will also contact the motel/hotel directly to negotiate in my best interest. But I do question hotels.com’s integrity at this point.
