Frequently asked questions

When is the best time to go to Gorafe?
The best time to go to Gorafe is during the spring (late March to early June) and autumn (September to October) months.

These periods offer the most pleasant weather for exploring the region. You'll find warm, sunny days without the intense heat of summer, making outdoor activities like hiking and stargazing very comfortable. The landscape is also at its most appealing, with the desert flora in bloom during spring and the autumn colours adding a different beauty to the badlands.

For those keen on outdoor adventures, spring and autumn are perfect. The cooler temperatures are ideal for long walks or cycling through the Gorafe Desert's unique terrain, including the impressive geological formations and ancient cave dwellings. You can comfortably spend full days exploring without battling extreme heat.

Couples looking for a relaxing escape will also appreciate these shoulder seasons. The milder weather allows for leisurely evenings spent enjoying the quiet surroundings, perhaps with a glass of local wine, and the chance to stargaze without the discomfort of summer heat or winter chill.
