Located only 20 minutes from downtown Golden, the cabin is equipped with a hot tub, pool table, mini-bar, board games, hammoc swings and a large fire pit with 10 Muskoka chairs. The 2400 sq ft cabin has 2 bedrooms (a master bedroom loft and guest bedroom on the main floor) and open concept queen custom-made bunk beds in the downstairs rec room. A wraparound porch surrounds the lodge complete with Muskoka chairs and BBQ. The space The lodge is a great set up for families and groups of friends. The main bedroom with ensuite is located on the open concept loft, where you will wake up from your king-sized bed to the spectacular views out the large main windows. Second bedroom is a private queen bedroom located on the main floor, which shares the full bathroom with the main floor. The finished basement has a rec room with a pool table, small bar set up and custom queen bunk beds (3 queen beds- one set of bunk beds + queen bed at the head end of the bunk). Another full bathroom is located on the basement level, and includes a washing machine and dryer. The galley style kitchen includes a three seat breakfast bar that opens onto a large dining and living room area. Our custom made 9ft dining table comfortably seats 8-10 people. This area is great for entertaining, playing games and catching up with family and friends. The large wrap around deck is located off the living room and looks over the Columbia river and mountains from a distance. The covered hot tub is accessible from the upper deck - a wonderful spot to sit back, relax and enjoy the fresh mountain air. Guests with small children will find a crib and rocking chair (located in the master bedroom loft), as well as our high chair, inflatable changing mat, and plastic dishes/cutlery. A small selection of children’s toys and books are also available. Guest access Guests have access to the entire property. We have a locked storage room and some locked cabinets that hold our supplies, equipment, and personal belongings that guests will not have access to. Apart from that, the whole property is yours to enjoy. Other things to note \*\*\*Please ensure you've read this section before booking. It's important for us to manage our guest's expectations before they book our Airbnb. We truly want nothing more than for our guests to have a relaxing and stress-free holiday. That being said, we want to be upfront with our guests that there are sometimes limitations as to what we can do to rectify issues. The cabin is located in a rural environment, and the town of Golden has a limited amount of services and tradespeople available to repair issues. Weather: Given our rural location, the weather can have a major impact on the cabin's surroundings. In the winter months our driveway is regularly plowed. If for some reason the driveway is not plowed, please let us know and we will get in touch with our contractor ASAP. Please ensure your vehicle has 4 wheel drive or All Wheel Drive as the driveway can be icy depending on the weather cycles. Unfortunately the plow does not clear the entrance pathway - there are shovels and sand available at the entrance for safeguarding the pathways. In the summer months, there may be mosquitoes, moths, flies, bats, deer, wolves and/or bears - this is all part of the typical Canadian Rockies experience. We do have a mosquito magnet set up on our property and we make every attempt to keep our lawn cut to help manage bug populations. Please do not leave food or drinks outside as these may attract wildlife. Before you book: Ensure your profile is completed with a write up and a picture and be prepared to tell us about the guests who will be staying with you. If you do not have existing Airbnb references, we may ask for personal character references. Issues with the cabin: If there is an issue with the cabin during your stay, we will always attempt to address and fix the problem as quickly as possible and to the best of our ability. We will ensure you are kept up to date on when this issue may be resolved. Damages: Please report any damage or broken items so that we may ensure everything is in working order for our next guests. Depending on the damage, we may need to make a claim through Airbnb. Connectivity: A Cell phone Booster has been installed in the lodge to help guests stay connected. We do not have a landline phone. We have unlimited high-speed internet through Starlink. Entertainment: A projector and screen, TV, Nintendo and DVD player, as well as small collection of DVDs and games are available in the lower level rec room. There is no cable. Quiet Time policy Out of respect for our neighbours, Quiet Time is between 11pm and 7am. During this time, please keep music low and be mindful of noise when outside on the deck or in the hot tub. SECURITY CAMERAS: We have several external cameras to protect our property as our chalet is in a remote area. We only monitor the number of guests entering the property and monitor for security when it is unoccupied. It is surrounded by forest and bears visit the property, so these measures are necessary to protect the chalet. THERE ARE NO CAMERAS INDOORS OR IN VIEW OF THE HOT TUB. We do not record or listen to sound. Your privacy is assured! Cameras are located in the following places: 1\. Parking area (located on a tree and pointed towards the driveway) 2\. Front entrance (above door, looking down the stairs) 3\. Under the deck looking out at patio 4\. Under deck looking at under deck storage area 5\. Top deck (near BBQ) looking out at side entrance/firepit area We also have two Ring doorbells at the front and side doors. The view is beyond incredible (pictures seriously don’t do it justice), the kitchen is stocked with pretty much everything you need, very comfy living area and loft bed, and the downstairs pool table was a hit!! If I could give 100 stars for communication I would. Every question was answered almost immediately which was so appreciated. Location is approx 15 minutes from the sweet town of Golden which has great restaurants, market days and walking trails. Golden is a beautiful authentic town and a great base from which to explore the Rockies, and this cabin was the perfect combination of proximity to town, yet feeling of seclusion, in which to stay. We had an absolutely fantastic stay at the chalet in beautiful British Columbia! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the stunning views that greeted us - the majestic mountains and serene river right outside our window made for an unforgettable backdrop throughout our stay. One of the things that really stood out was how well-stocked the chalet was. Unlike other places we've stayed, we didn't need to pack any extras here. The kitchen had all the essentials and more, making cooking a breeze. The cozy bedrooms were already equipped with comfortable linens and ample storage space. It was evident that the hosts had put a lot of thought into providing everything we might need. The communication with the host was exceptional. They were incredibly responsive and made sure we had all the information we needed prior to our arrival. It's always reassuring to know that the host is just a message away in case of any questions or concerns. If you're looking for a peaceful retreat with all the comforts of home and unbeatable scenery, look no further. We're already counting down the days until our next visit! ##### Jason R. The house and property are both amazing. but what is the nicest part is the owners. Kylie is amazing in communicating with you. The few questions or requests i did have, she always responds within minutes and is very helpful. Incase you are wondering what you need to bring.....clothes, food and alcohol!!! lol Everything else is there. The kitchen is stocked with a ton of dishes and glass ware and any utensils and cookware you can think of to make anything. Sufficient coffee and tea and creamers are waiting for any length of stay. The house was spotless on our arrival and the furniture and beds are all very comfortable and cozy. If you go in the winter i will say the driveway is perfect for crazy carpeting no matter what age you are, and the 11 foot long main table is perfect for regulation beer pong!! lol We stayed for 4 days and our group wouldn't be able to find the smallest downfall to even mention about our trip. Starting with the breathtaking location, with a view that was spellbounding and made for a hot-tub back drop never before experienced, to the beds so comfortable all our mornings were sleep in Devine!. We LOVED this cabin. The owners left no detail untested to.... the coffee station had us smiling from young to adult ..the retro games entertained everyone, even the family dog had a special place by the fire! The property is well appointed with all the comforts of home. Mountain ranges everywhere you look with the Columbia River straight out the deck across the way where we enjoyed birds of all sorts. Quiet, secluded yet a 15 minute drive to Golden which has everything you need, groceries, pharmacy, gas, dining, bars etc. a quaint mountain town that is low key. Using the chalet as base camp we saw local attraction as well as Glacier NP to the west and Banff to the east, Both we’re an easy scenic drive. My family (2 adults, 3 kids) stayed here from July 2 - 9 and it is such a fantastic place to stay. The views are as gorgeous, and more, as they seem from the photos! We spent a lot of time on the balcony just gazing at the mountains, wetlands and river. The view alone is well worth the price! The cabin itself has been sublimely crafted. The whole cabin just feels like a work of art. Kylie, the host, has thought of virtually everything to make your stay feel comfy and luxurious. The little touches Kylie provides really go a long way to making your stay unforgettable. A few examples: I am keen to cook on a grill while travelling and was delighted to find a cupboard full of different spices. Every griller knows the importance of spices, and while travelling, no one wants to grocery shop for spices you will only use a couple of times and won't be able to take home. Having plenty of spices on hand really helped me deliver some memorable meals while there! We also realized that the full laundry facilities also provided detergent. Again, a small thing, but we like to do all of our laundry while on the road so that when we arrive home we don't have a mountain of laundry to catch up on. These are just two examples, but Kylie has really thought of everything! While there, we also had my brother and his family come to stay with us (so 9 of us in total) and there was plenty of space for everyone. This is a great place to get away with family, but also a phenomenal place to host a few friends or family members while away. My wife and I stayed in the upper loft, and wow, waking up to mountain views every morning is such a treat. I can't say enough great things about this place. Book in, you won't regret it! In terms of location, the cabin is just a short drive from Golden. Golden itself is certainly no Banff or Lake Louise, so we didn't spend a ton of time in town, but there was so much to do in the area, that our days were packed with hiking and other adventures. I would recommend the following in the area: suspension bridge, wolf centre, Leo's Buffalo farm is amazing and Leo has an infectious and charming personality. I could have listened to him talk about buffalo for hours. We also paraglided which was phenomenal. Kicking Horse mountain is great. Definitely check out Boo the bear. The mountain biking and hiking at the mountain are top notch and there are a ton of other great hikes in the area. This is the place to stay when near Golden! ##### Brad W. Thank you to Kylie and family for sharing their incredible home. The location was perfect for touring the area. We easily made day trips to Glacier, Yoho and Kootenay. The view was even better than we anticipated and the hot tub, fire pit and pool table were used many times. We didn't want to leave. Our stay at Kylie’s chalet was nothing short of perfect! Everything we could have possibly needed during our stay was made available, from shampoo and conditioner, anything you could possibly need in the kitchen, and a crib/high chair for the baby. Kylie was the best host we could have asked for— friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. Everything from the booking process to pre-arrival communication, to the stay to the follow-up was nothing short of incredible hospitality! The house was the perfect spot to host a mountain getaway if you're looking for a place to unwind and re-connect with family & friends.
