The indoor/outdoor format allows you to flow back and forth between climate controlled comfort and swimming in the large custom in-ground pool (not heated), lounging on the deck, perusing the flower gardens, picking fresh produce from the garden in the back, lawn games or bocce, al fresco dining and refreshments on the deck, decompressing in the hot tub, or just letting the warm sunshine wash over you in one of the chaise loungers until you enter a Zen-like state. Spacious indoors and out, a dining room and two large common rooms with masonry fireplaces offer gathering places to relax and wind down after a full day with a meal and fire. We are located in the heart of Sonoma Valley wine country. Several wineries are walkable, and dozens more are within a 10 minute drive. Hiking, biking, and picnicking in Sonoma Valley Regional Park, as well as guided nature walks in Bouverie Wildflower Preserve, are both a mile away. Charming downtown Glen Ellen is 1.5 miles down a country lane. The entrance to Jack London State Park and amazing hiking, picnicking, and historic buildings are two miles away; guided horseback riding is also available. The renowned Sonoma town square is 7.5 miles down Highway 12\. Glen Ellen and Sonoma both offer great restaurants, Sonoma a wider selection. They all commented how wonderful the accommodations were close to so many places. Instacart delivers to this property which made our eat in dinners perfect. Ordering tritip and chicken for tacos and salmon from Costco was less than going to dinner one night at Mexican for our whole stay. Our guests loved how spacious the house was and it made it feel like with ten people you weren’t on top of each other: the house was so quiet we couldn’t even hear the snorers in our group. The backyard was so large you could enjoy bocce the garden the grill worked great and was filled with gas. For a large party it gives you a lot of space. The kitchen is updated and beautiful. There were spices in the cabinet which helped since I forgot to order salt and pepper. The garage fridge was perfect for a few white claws. I didn’t realize there were extra paper towels in the garage so I ended up buying some and leaving my extras out there to share. I really hope when I come out next time this property is available it was one of the best I’ve stayed at and I’ve traveled a lot. Thank you to our wonderful hosts. The spacious layout afforded the right mix of together and separate space, both inside and out. The pool, hot tub, outdoor games (bocce, cornhole, basketball, and neighborhood walks) were great. The kitchen and grill facilitated home cooking very nicely. The location allowed nice day trips to Muir Woods and Sausalito, San Francisco, and Napa, while the local Sonoma, Santa Rosa, and Glen Ellen wineries, restaurants, and shopping allowed “home days” to be as good as our excursions. It is an easy 5 minute drive to Glen Ellen and 10-15 minutes to Sonoma. We spent a day in Healdsburg as well (highly recommend the French bakery there!). There is a master with bath on the main floor and 3 additional bedrooms upstairs sharing a bath. There is also a room with twin beds off the living room. The house was clean. The kitchen was well-stocked, and we cooked several meals during our stay. The backyard is lovely and private. ##### J. A. The home was outfitted with everything we needed to luxuriate and was perfectly close to Sonoma and many wineries. We spent most of the time poolside near the huge pool and in the hot tub. We felt so rested, it is a perfect home. Robert left detailed instructions and was responsive to any question we had, he went above and beyond and left a bottle of bubbles chilled in the fridge for us so we could toast our arrival (for a charge and by request of course). We would not hesitate to book again next time we visit wine country, this listing has it all!! ##### Sonya M. This house met our needs perfectly even as a large group of 9\. We all commented on the beds and bedding being comfy, and the upstairs bathroom is set up great for sharing with two vanities. Multiple seating areas with comfy couches and beautiful outdoor area, fully stocked kitchen supplies for cooking. Host responded immediately even at 9:30pm about issue with hot tub that was quickly resolved. There were even extra pool floaties and an air machine to fill them. Séjour de 4 nuits en juillet 2024 ### 10/10 – Excellent #### Deb K. 5 juill. 2024 Points forts : Propreté #### Wonderful Wanderings Our family of 10: 5 adults ranging from 56-88 and 5 adults ranging from age 21-30 found great comfort in this beautiful home and on the property. The kitchen is INCREDIBLY well supplied (spices and pots and pans, plenty of dishes, cutlery and glasses for indoor and outdoor use. There are plenty of pool towels and pool floats and chairs around the beautiful pool. It is a gorgeous property to wander and explore. There are lots of birds including a family of quail. There are lots of hang out spaces. This is an ideal home for a large gathering. The neighborhood is full of beautiful homes and beautifully landscaped yards- its a treat to wander through the neighborhood. Downtown Sonoma, with fabulous restaurants, in less than 1/2 an hour away and there are more wineries in the vicinity than any group could reasonably visit in a month. There are a couple wineries very close- including Loxton where 8 of our 10 were able to just walk in without reservations and the tasting fee was applied to the cost of a bottle (or 2 or 6) of wine. Their port is exceptionally good. We ate incredible meals that we prepared in the kitchen and while there is much to do beyond the house it is a wonderful house and yard in which to just disappear from the world for awhile. ##### Deb K.
