Dear Guest,Thank you for your message and of course, we are really surprise about your commnents.Whe you arrived, and if the room was not top (cleaning, equipmnets, etc) you should inform and show us inmediately and we will do our best to change the room, updated room or in case to find the bext solution for you.Like you know, the shower and W.C are sharing, we clean our Hotel everyday and sometimes the others customers they dont leave the toilets in a good shape. But again, we clean the Hotel everyday.Accept our apoligize and best regards.

Reasonable for a cheap option if traveling alone. Small room with a twin bed with wash basin and that’s it . Had to share toilet and shower located in the same floor. Room was clean. Provided with enough towels. If you are traveling alone then this an option for a place to just sleep at night. Area is located close to the train station and a bargain place to stay.

Not fancy, but convenient.
The hotel is well located for convenience to the train and bus connections, and to shops. Also, only a ten minute walk across the river is the Old Town, with its steep hills, cobbled stone streets, quaint cafes and historic landmarks. The lake front is also not far. A plus was the included free public transportation pass provided and downloadable on my mobile. My stay was short, so I used it only to go to the airport. I was quite satisfied with the hotel, as my stay was for one night in preparation for the flight home. The convenient location gave me plenty of time to have a relaxing afternoon and evening, including a beer by the lake and a nice dinner in Old Town, before returning to the hotel to sleep. The bed was comfortable, the linens good, and, with the windows open, the air was cool enough. Now, be advised, the rooms are small and old. Mine had a sink, but the toilet and shower are in the hall and shared with residents of other rooms. There is no breakfast or other food service in the hotel, and there is no electric kettle, microwave or fridge in the room. The t.v. in the room is small and mounted near the ceiling. This is not a hotel where you will want to spend much time other than sleeping. It was clean enough, but it is old, and not in a quaint way. The manager was friendly, efficient and helpful. I would stay there again under similar circumstances.

Delayed due to train evacuation in Lyon and missed the check in time 12-15:00! NO good facility would do such a thing. MANY people around town agree this place is a total scam! SAVE YOURSELF AND STAY ELSEWHERE IS SUISSE!!!! HORRIBLE!

Only liked the location. Requested for a double room and got the room number weeks before the day but upon arrival the room was a single bed. Counter personnel was nice and asked if we wanted an additional room instead, but we didn’t want to and had a mattess instead. Pillow was too soft. a very uncomfortable night but I guess for one night the location is most important and this did the job.

HORRIBLE -STAY AWAY
Worst stay I’ve ever had in Europe!!! Unreal . Upon arrival my room was taken by a couple of girls. After some discussion I persuaded them to leave. The morning after my bed was filled with bed bugs and blood stains. My body was covered with hundreds of bites… Stay away from this hotel!!! It’s a CATASTROPHE

Does the job - near the main train station and comfortable single bed. Only thing is that the walls are thin - the next room’s TV wasn’t loud but you could hear it very clearly at night when you are trying to sleep, so bring earplugs. Other than that, the room was fine.

Good location. Friendly staff. Nice clean small rooms. Breakfast was a continental and basic. I would definitely recommend as long as you are happy to share bathroom and toilet facilities.

The location is easy to reach from the Central Cornavin Hotel, staff and breakfast are nice, however no fruits or veggies there. Bare in mind there are nodisposable toothpaste, shampoo, toothbrash, slippers, paper towels or napkins, hairdryer, no telephone in the room to call to reception. I chose the room with toilet and shower at the floor, not in the room, so you would need some gum slippers or flip-flops to take shared shower. There is extensive fungus in the door of shower room. For the price of more than 100 $ it could be a little bit more comfortable. However personnel is absolutely friendly and helpful.

Basic is not supposed to mean dingy: the walls in the tiny room, in the shared bathroom and in the extremely tiny lift were dirty. The desk is so worn out is pathetic. The receptionists were nice, the bed was well made and the location close to the train station was great.

Location near transport and walkable to Centre of town was fantastic. Shared bathroom floor was often wet as people clearly didn’t put a towel down when they showered. Doors were hard to lock. The person in the room next door smoked constantly and it drifted into our room which was very unpleasant. The walls are thin so you can hear people walking through the hotel all night. The beds are very small for double beds, luckily we are small people. The room was otherwise an okay size. The breakfast was basic. The service was good, they were always willing to help and checkin was easy. We were able to use the microwave to heat our dinners and sit in the dining area to eat our own food which was convenient.

Convenient, cost effective Hotel in Geneva
The only problems I encountered were the somewhat noisy, excessive washing of the street by noisy vehicles very early in the morning, not once or twice but seemingly several times each day! Also the hotel's wash basins had no plug so it was very difficult doing small clothes washing in the room basin. Otherwise I'd rate the place as being very convenient and local to the railway station.Geneva

This place is conveniently located near the train station and old town with public transportation just around the corner. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was nice - typical simple continental breakfast. The room was extremely small (climate control=window) but clean with a comfy bed and an in-room sink because of shared bathroom. The shared bathroom was pretty worn out, nothing that a little maintenance couldn’t fix (attachment for shower head). Overall a nice stay.

Hostel, not a Hotel. Smelled like smoke.
Hotel St Gervais is not quite a hotel, it really should be advertised more as a hostel, since most of the rooms are SHARED bathroom, for a private bathroom it is an extra 24CHF/night and there are only 2 such rooms, the bathroom in these rooms are separated by a curtain. The hotel is supposed to be nonsmoking but certain floors and our room smelled terribly of smoke. We complained and they couldn't do anything about it the first night we stayed, however the next morning the guy said not to worry, they deal with this all the time and they would have the room straightened out for us.. luckily they were able to air out and air freshener the hell out of the room but they still missed the cigarette butts that were piled up just outside of our window. Staff are friendly enough, breakfast is traditional Swiss breakfast of toasts, there is WiFi on every floor, not just in the lobby as advertised. For the price you might as well go find a real hotel.

The hotel staff were really lovely. This place is big value for money. It’s centrally located but quiet and quaint, place is in very good condition, comfortable bed, and good breakfast! I say again, Staff were great. We had all we needed here.

First time visit to Geneva
The hotel has six floors with three rooms on each floor. The rooms are basic but perfectly adequate for a weekend stay. Our room was lovely and warm and the free wi-fi worked well. The continental breakfast was very nice and helped start the day off well. The reception staff were very helpful and the free public transport passes came in very handy. The hotel is centrally located close to tram and bus stops. All in all we had a great stay at the St Gervais and would definitely recommend it. We will be back.
