Golfing/fishing stay
Being able to dock my boat at night was very convenient. The cabin was clean and comfortable. The only drawback was the traffic noise from Old 27. I would stay there again

A little disappointed
The cabin was clean, but I thought the couch was another sleeping space. I had to buy sheets and a comforter. There were 3 adults and we each needed our own bed The lake wasn’t convenient. Crossing a busy highway and a railroad track to get to it. Water quality is poor with high e-coil readings. There was actually a warning against swimming. That should be shared with guests. Most people do not think to check water quality. Transparency about this would increase your integrity. More info about what was needed in the cabin regarding toilet paper and paper towels would have been helpful. The towels are of poor quality, and there was one hand towel, 4 towels and 3 washcloths. Lowering your price is recommended and more descriptive narratives on your site.

Big Ticket Festival

Enjoyable
Our host was very kind and thoughtful. The cabin was cozy and comfortable. They are in the process of remodeling the outside and the landscaping. The lake is very beautiful and the dock with the fire pit was a very nice way of enjoying the sun set. So very glad that we stayed there.

Charming and vintage
This cottage is right across from Otsego Lake and a very short walk to a swimming beach. The sunsets were amazing. It is charming, clean, and exactly what a Northern Michigan cottage should look like. Great communication with the property owner. Would definitely stay here again!

The owner is Amazing!
We were there with my 14 year old son, who is developmentally disabled and his 13 year old sister. They both had an amazing time fishing and kayaking from the dock. One night, my son took the kayak clear across the lake and Tad took the time to go find him and bring him back. The cabin is comfortable, but there is no stove. However, there is a gas and charcoal grill which we used to cook chicken and the fish my son caught. Easily, the best trip to Michigan. Thank you again to Tad and his wife.

The cabin has a beautiful view of Otsego lake and very close to a lot of golf courses in Gaylord. Also really close to the freeway. The bed is a little hard and the living room could use another comfortable chair. Overall, it served its purpose.

bare minimum for the price
Largely agree with the Aug. 2020 'Rustic Cabin' review comments. Didn't see any indications of more renovation since then. Pay attention to what *isn't* in the listing. No A/C was a problem in hot, muggy weather; little breeze, and highway and train noise with windows open. No place to hang / store clothes. For the price, I would say it's not a good value - at least in summer. The dock use was appreciated, and nice sunsets. Building exterior needs repairs and landscaping need attention.

Great cabin close to lake
Bring your sunscreen for days at the beach and bug spray for cool nights on the dock at the fire. Down the street from beach access, or fish off the dock. Dock is across busy road and path is a little difficult to traverse with quite a few stairs, but the views are stunning. There is no stove but owner provides a charcoal grill. Or, just go into town which is just a couple minutes away. Cute little cabin, nicely updated. Owner is super responsive. We stayed for 2 nights and wanted to stay longer. Great place to relax and enjoy the area. Close to Grayling for river trips!

Our cabin getaway weekend
This property reminded me of camping when I was a little girl. It is truly an efficiency only cabin. No A/C in 90 degree weather was tricky. We bought fans for every window. And the shower is super tight if you are not a small person. Not many kitchen utensils and the fridge is a wine cooler. But for a few nights stay it was enough to just get away.

The cabin was as pictured. Very clean. Only issue was lack of silverware and appliances like a toaster. We bought some inexpensive silverware and left it for future use. Loved the use of the dock and easy access to state boat launch. Would stay again! Thanks!

We were very comfortable in our unit. We stayed for 6 nights and went back and forth with other family members staying at the State Park. Great to have the dock available across the road to park our pontoon and available to sit by the water.

The place was really cute! We loved our stay! The only issues we had was finding the actual unit and the outside of the cabin looked like it needed some tlc but overall a great place.

Cozy and close to good x country ski trails.
This cozy cabin had Knotty pine walls a beautiful stone fireplace and cute kitchenette Microwave , coffee maker and mini fridge but no stove. Fine for a weekend stay. Be aware it is divided into two units so you can hear your next door neighbors. They were not loud the two nights we were there so not a problem but something to note. Just a short drive to Gaylord and ski trails. Price was reasonable for the accommodations. Would stay again.

Nice place the only thing you need to put a quiet time in place first nite the neighbors were up till 3 am second nite at 4 am my wife told them to shut the f up finally they went to bed

Place was quaint and clean. Beautiful view of lake Otsego and great location from local ski resorts.
This cabin was great for a weekend. There was no stove, oven or dishwasher which threw us off but the place ended up working great for what we needed it for. Parking was also easy.

Rustic Cabin
The owner was helpful and very responsive. We didn’t have any issues With anything in the cabin being broken. The sunsets and lake are beautiful and the dock has fire pit and chairs. There is a walking trail along the lake. There are good restaurants right down street. The bedding was clean and looked like new. In fact, everything in the cabin is clean. Here are some things to know. The property is rustic (my opinion) and the outside could use some work. The road is busy and you will hear traffic most of the day and night. It was easy to cross the road though. There are also train tracks but never saw a train. Inside: Be advised there is no air and if it is hot outside, you will be hot. The owner provides two fans which helped. I would recommend calling this out on listing or add a window air conditioner. There’s no stove so recommend owner buy a small griddle or add to listing. Otherwise, bring your own. That way you can eat breakfast there. We did use the charcoal grill outside and the briquettes and starter fluid were provided. That works great when it isn’t raining out. I enjoyed cooking that way but not for everyone. The refrigerator is a small wine cooler. We brought our own cooler. There’s no ice so you will need to buy that and store in cooler. The temp was fine for our food we bought. Plan to use paper plates which were provided. I was grateful for coffee maker and filters were provided. I brought my own coffee but think there may have been a container in cupboard. The beds are full size so plan to snuggle if you are used to king size at home. This wasn’t a big deal but something to know.

Fantastic weekend get away!
Very nice property, comfortably fit 4 people. Otsego Lake was beautiful! This is only 40-45 minutes from Charlevoix, Boyne City, Walloon Lake, etc. which are great places to visit as well. Thanks for a great weekend!

Clean cozy small cabin
Tad did a nice job renovating the cabin. They are small but very clean. Bedding is brand new. If you plan on staying or a few days bring some paper products to eat off of. Coffee pot was supplied as well as microwave. The cabin sets on US27, it is a very busy road. Caution when crossing to the lake, which is on the other side across a multi use gravel trail system and an active railroad track. Lake is nice and sandy. We stayed mainly at my daughters house rental on the lake. It is a beautiful sandy bottom lake. Never saw any seaweed. Skied all week and the kids tubed. Great access boat launch at the state park just down the road. All other renters were respectful and quiet by bed time.

Charming Cabin
Very clean, nicely-decorated two-bedroom cabin just across the road from Otsego Lake frontage. A dock is provided, and although there is no beach the water is shallow and sandy right off the dock. The only drawback is the noise from the highway, US27. Overall very nice experience.
