And cheaper too! Nestled on top a hill at the outskirts of Columbia, yet close and convenient to everything. Fort Jackson and Columbia are about 20 minutes with the USC football stadium approximately 15 minutes. All beds fully made. Kitchen stocked with everything you need. The bathrooms are clean, fresh and inviting. FREE WIFI internet and FREE washer/dryer usage. Close and convenient to interstates 26 & 77 and highways 6, 321 & 302\. Guests have exclusive access to all areas of the home and property. The backyard is fenced with chain-link fencing which is great for children and pets. Please do not enter neighboring properties without neighbor’s permission. This home has one or more video cameras mounted on the exterior. Please do not bother or disturb the cameras and do not unplug them. A tampering fee of $200 will be charged per incident of cameras or their cords being tampered with. Sleeping arrangements are solely the responsibility of the guest. We make no guarantee of the number of people our home can sleep, but we will allow groups larger than the number of people we specify in the home’s listing. The number of people that this home can sleep is calculated assuming 2 people per bed in double sized or larger beds, and 1 person per bed for single/twin beds. Guests are responsible for determining if this arrangement suits them and their party of companions. Guests may bring sleeping bags, inflatable mattresses, etc. to provide additional sleeping arrangements if they so desire. Pets are allowed after they are declared in the reservation and the pet fee is paid, or we have been notified that the guest wishes to bring a pet, and the $75 + tax per pet fee paid. If you bring pets without declaring them and paying the reservation pet fee, you will be responsible for paying a $250 + tax per pet fee. Do not bring a pet into our home, under any circumstances, without our knowledge and approval. We have a child who is extremely allergic to pets and their hair and dander. The allergy is so acute, he has required emergency hospitalization several times. No matter how good or well-trained a pet may be, no pet, including service animals, can avoid shedding hair and dander, and when pets are in strange places, they do strange things. If you have not declared your pet on the reservation site and paid the pet fee, so the home can be specially cleaned and sanitized of hair and dander after you leave, please, do not bring a pet into our home, under any circumstances, without our knowledge and approval. When the guest is allowed to bring a pet, if the pet soils (urine, poop, blood, other bodily fluids, dirt, etc.) or damages the floor, carpet, furniture, etc., the cleaning service charges additional fees for cleaning and repair that will be charged to the guest. When brought into the home, pets are not allowed on countertops or any of the furniture, beds, tables, chairs, etc. Pets are to stay on the floor at all times. If you bring pets into our home without our approval, there will be charged $250 + tax per pet. Our home is offered for people visiting the area to have a place to stay while they are out and about and attending to the purpose of their visit. Our home is not intended nor offered for having social events or hosting guests and visitors. If you are having visitors, then you are engaging in a social event. Social Events are allowed with approval of host. For any type of social event, parties, gatherings, rehearsals, reunions, showers, weddings, etc. there is a charge of $150 + tax. After you reserve our home, we will send a special payment request, through your reservation web page, for the social event fee in the amount of $150 + tax. When you book our home, you will need to declare the number of people who will be staying in the home, and you will have to let us know how many people will be attending the event. Guests are required to provide a clear, legible copy of a valid driver’s license for the individual making the reservation and a list of the full names for all persons who will be staying in the home or accessing the property. Was not able to check in. Host finally messaged me 2.5 hrs after the check in time. I had to find my own lodging for the night. Although I was refunded the full cost, it took much effort on my part to get this done thru Vrbo. Only after asking several times for Vrbo t refund my new hotel expense did they agree, but they were not initially going to pay for my hotel for 1 night because "I was already getting refunded from the host and then not spending over the original cost to me". Séjour de 3 nuits en janvier 2026 ### 10/10 – Excellent #### Chris h. 13 déc. 2025 Points forts : Propreté Found this great stay close to Fort Jackson where our nephew was graduating basic this is a perfect 23 miles away so if your soldier needs a place to decompress its perfect. This house was so nice - enough beds and rooms for five people, nice size kitchen to cook in and a huge backyard. There is a grill in the back yard if you are someone who likes to cook on charcoal. Host is very communicative when we needed to ask questions.Bedrooms: The primary bedroom has a king size bed and a nice huge bathroom with walk in closet. There is two queen/full size beds in one room access to the closet is tight. Then there is either a full/queen size bed in the other bed room. There is a shared bathroom for those rooms close by. Living room: nice size, tv is small and the WIFI is not that great but you are able to use the apps on the tv to watch your favorite streaming options. Couch is really not sleepable but I'm sure someone small could sleep on it. There are board games available to play with families as well.Kitchen: Great size table for four, there are extra chairs about for people to set on to eat. There is a normal coffee pot, we brought our Keurig so that is something I thought people should know about the coffee situation. There are basic cooking utensils and pots & pans. make sure you bring extra storage bags or trash bags for your trash.Laundry Room: We did use the laundry room, bring your own washing detergent and dryer sheets if you plan to wash your clothes. ##### Chris h. About a year ago, I rented another place in preparation for my nephew's wedding. As time got closer, a little over a month before the occasion, the proprietors of the other location notified me that due to circumstances beyond their control, they could no longer accommodate me, so my search for accommodations was back on, and I found this place. It was a blessing. This is a single residence, and it is in the country, but still close to some restaurants, and grocery shopping. I liked the location because it was quiet, and the fact that it was close enough to the event, but not so close that people would try to come see me. Let's face it, I love my family, but I also like my space. The place was clean, had cook wear in the kitchen, and plenty of towels, if you need them. The proprietor responded to messages very quickly and check in and out was very easy. There were a few spiders, but keep in mind, it is a little in the country. If you want perfect, someone to hold your hand through everything, someone waiting on you hand and foot, this place may not be for you. If you want simple life living comforts, with a home like feel, this could be your best option. We ultimately didn’t even check into the property, and ended up going to a nearby hotel instead. I didn’t cancel the reservation at the property as I’d not receive any refund anyways - and at least I could write a review. Ultimately, this was the first listing that has ever required the information this host wants. Full names of all guest, to include my minor children? An unaltered Copy of my license. I did not feel comfortable giving him all of this information, informed both him and VRBO that it was against VBRO policy to communicate outside of the secure platform. Ended up sending some variation of the information (accurate or not I won’t say). On top of that, host wants to meet you in person at check-in (also never encountered that). Says all hotels required a license and that is why the IRS requires. But I’ve never given a hotel my license either, so it added to the shadiness. Host tries to make you feel comfortable sending all of this by boasting about his “Q Level Clearance with the Department of Energy” and some story about how he got a fee from the IRS for not collecting licenses. But we felt just through email communication and the one phone call that VBRO put us on together like this situation was bad all around. I had asked to cancel the reservation and get refunded due to not wanting to provide my ID - but naturally that wasn’t allowed bc it was in the posting. So my advice - read the posting carefully. It was a great price and location. I think the only thing we would have liked would be a few of the things you dont usually pack, such as laundry soap and more toilet paper. We were in a bind being that all of our local kennels were booked and we needed to bring our dogs with us. This house was a gem to find. A little further out of the city than we would have liked (about 15 minutes), but an easy commute. The house was quiet, which kept the dogs calm; quite roomy, so there was plenty of space to put their crates without being in the way; and most importantly, CLEAN! And as a bonus, there was a wonderful fenced-in yard. The host was very nice and responsive whenever we needed him. We would definitely stay here again. ##### Lori T. I have been renting vacation homes for a long time with different companies. The lack of communication with the owner to get combination for lockbox did not exist. I sent a message via VRBO, as well as telephoned him, on the morning of departure. He did not call me back until 1:00 P.M, and his response is that he had up to 4:00 P.M. to respond to me. My wife finally got him to allow us in at 3:00 P.M. and was told the key was under the front door mat. I was not allow to get the combination because it was used for emergencies or for the housekeeper(how inconvenient with friends==> had to hide the key outside so other people could use). The lawn was not cut(up to my ankle or higher), A lot of light bulbs was not in place, numerous dump trucks passing in front of the house all day since the end of the street was a entrance to sandpit company, the driveway was a steep angle and four inch difference between driveway surface and ground in some area(very dangerous). He then sends emails concerning stipulations about stay a hour before 4;00 P.M. that should have been on his house webpage. I also had to dispose of the garbage before leaving. even though I paid a cleaning fee. I could have been charged extra money for arriving early or leaving late(outrageous fee).
