One of my favorite reviews this season; Jennifer, Thanks again for let us stay at your cabin during this crazy, COVID summer. What a treat. We were looking for a road trip get away with the family, and Montana sure did the trick. Your cabin (Yellowstone River Cabin #4) was perfect for our family of four. The bedrooms are nice and spacious. We loved the cozy king-sized bed, and the kids loved that they got to sleep in their own big beds and didn’t mind sharing a room (which is a good thing with a teenaged boy and tween girl)!
You’ve decorated the cabin perfectly for those wanting a true Montana/Yellowstone experience. And your collection of stories and articles about the Yellowstone Park and its history were wonderful to read after spending a day in the Park. We all learned something new! And the book on grizzly bears came in handy, as we were lucky enough to have a grizzly visitor every night in front of the cabin!!! Before you freak out, he never came near the cabins, he was across the way on the island in the middle of the river. Thankfully, he was focused on dining on the elk carcass in front of him, and not the spectators across the river. I snapped this photo of Henry down at the river’s edge before I made him come back up the bank…he was too close; I would not recommend doing that!! But again, what a treat for all of us staying in the Yellowstone River Cabins, we made it an evening ritual before dusk with folks in the other cabins to watch the bear over a glass of wine. A fun way to meet people from all over who were coming out to Montana for the same experiences as we were. We all compared notes from our daily adventures and animal sightings.
The cabin is in such a great spot. We enjoyed the beautiful views of the Yellowstone River from your back porch (love the chairs!), and access to Gardiner and the YNP entrance was extremely easy. Gardiner is such a cute little town, we walked into all the shops, and even ate out for a couple of meals during COVID – I would recommend the Wonderland Café and Yellowstone Grill for breakfast/lunch. We didn’t eat out for dinner at all because we didn’t want to miss the bear siting! J Unfortunately, the day before we left there was a big fire in Gardiner and a couple of the businesses we had popped into earlier that day were burned. I had just taken this photo of Kelly that day in front of the Blue Goose Saloon. So sad to see those historic buildings destroyed.
We can’t express enough how much we enjoyed our trip and our time at your cabin. It had all the comforts of home, but it wasn’t home, which is exactly what we were looking for! We will definitely be back – but hopefully with a siting of you - and your kids! For me that was all that was missing with my Montana trip.

The communication with Jennifer was outstanding. The accommodations were top notch. Beautiful setting with wildlife very close by. Diana was very helpful and did a great job of keeping the cabin in tip top shape. Overall, this was an outstanding VRBO property. We hope to return.
We spent two nights, checking out north YNP. Loved coming back to your riverside oasis far from the crowds. The cabin is wonderfully decorated and super cozy, especially the covered back porch!
This home was super cozy with all the essentials. The beds were super comfy and the kitchen was well stocked. However, our favorite part of the home was the porch overlooking the Yellowstone River. Jennifer was so easy to work with and attentive to all of our needs. We would reccomend this cabin to anyone!
This cottage was perfect for us. My husband and a friend enjoyed traveling throughout Yellowstone as we stayed here. We cooked two meals and especially enjoyed sitting on the outside porch And watching the wildlife. The beds were fantastic and we slept like babies.
I highly recommend this property. Everything was wonderful - the cabin was clean, had everything you’d need, comfortable beds, but it was really all about the location, location, location. Right on the banks of the Yellowstone River - where my husband caught fish every day - and a short ten minute ride to the northern Yellowstone entrance. Right outside of Gardiner, MT, where there are plenty of restaurants.
We enjoyed the cabin on the river. Got to see wildlife on the property. Very quiet and peaceful. Beds were comfortable and it made for a great stay while visiting Yellowstone from the north.
Would recommend for a family or small group of people.
Jennifer was just great with communication. We had a very pleasant stay- the location is unbelievable - saw some amazing wildlife and had a fab time. Thank you so much
This house had everything we were hoping full. Well stocked, beautiful views and easy access to all our adventures. 100% recommend. If we are back this way we will book here again!
We had an amazing stay at the cabin. It was clean, beautiful, and had the most amazing Montana feel. Our only complaint was that the coffee maker didn’t work, but we ended up just going to the cowboy up coffee truck each morning at the Sinclair. Everything was perfect, we’d definitely stay again!
My husband and I, as well as another couple stayed in cabin number four mid September 2023. It was exactly what we were looking for. A beautiful location on the river with a view of mountains offered a restful way to end a day of exploring Yellowstone Park. It is located just minutes from the north entrance of Yellowstone… a real plus!
Nice place to rest after an early day of exploring! Loved the elk, pronghorn and the river!
Comfortable; enjoyed the full kitchen and gas grill - we cooked a lot! Enjoyed the back deck, watched the rafters and fishermen floating by and the elk grazing in the yard. Our last day, we watched the elk (about 20 with babies) make their way down into the river.
This place was set up perfect for our stay. I came here with a coworker and the set up was perfect. Even had a family of elk in the backyard in the morning. I would definitely recommend staying here. The rooms were very nice each with their own bathroom to get ready for the day. The back porch was also a very nice spot to wind down for the day watching the river and wildlife.
Cabin worked out great. Nice location with beautiful view of Yellowstone River. We watched elk cross the river and saw them daily.
My only suggestions are the cabin needed more light and improved instructions for TV.
Very nice property and the location is great for going in and out of Yellowstone. The elk that came to visit - literally right at the back porch - were awesome to watch. We have so many videos. Last night 50-60 elk were right on the cabin property. Loved it!
This property had it all—location, wildlife, and a beautiful river setting. The home was incredibly comfortable, and the back porch was the perfect place to relax after a long day exploring Yellowstone. Be sure to bring binoculars—you’ll want them to count the elk on the hillside across the river. The dirt road leading to the Yellowstone entrance was packed with wildlife. The house had everything we needed and was a perfect fit for our group of six. We would definitely come back!
We had a wonderful time at this cabin. Fantastic views of the river and we enjoyed watching rafting adventures and people fishing. The cabin is well appointed and decorated with great care and lots of local Montana touches. Bring your own groceries if you can as the local store is very expensive. Easy access to the north gate of Yellowstone, wildlife can also be seen driving to the house! Thanks for a great stay!
Cabin on the Yellowstone River with abundant wildlife at your back porch.
Cabin 4 is a fully stocked two bedroom cabin located about four miles north of Gardiner on the west side of the Yellowstone River.
To our enjoyment we had morning and late afternoon visits from a herd of elk, It was fantastic having morning coffee while watching wildlife right outside on the back porch.
The kitchen was well stocked and the beds were very comfortable.
Note: the road on the west side of the Yellowstone River is a gravel road.
This cabin is located very close to the North entrance to Yellowstone. With the river flowing in the back yard and the mountains all around - it was a breath taking experience for sure. Having a full kitchen and laundry facilities in the cabin were so important. We could not have asked for more. Gardner is right at the North Entrance as well and has an assortment of restaurants, shops, gas, and a grocery store. All you need. We would recommend this experience and hope to return.
Riverside cabin in a picturesque setting close to nothern entrance
The pictures and description don't do this charming cabin enough justice! The gem is just minutes away from Gardiner, yet feels a world away from the noise & bustle of the town! The cabin was tastefully decorated and well-stocked. If you think the bedrooms & kitchen delight you, wait until you walk out to the patio! You can see the Yellowstone river rustling by, nestled by the beautiful mountains. You may see plenty of wildlife - we saw deer, pronghorn, rabbits and loons.
Jennifer has thoughtfully provided helpful maps of the park, several helpful books, even bug & bear sprays!
