Oak before ash "Oak before ash, will just be a splash. Ash before oak, we're in for a soak." The old rhyme predicts a dry summer because the oak tree is in bloom well before the ash tree. When the picture was taken in early May this seemed appropriate but the heavens opened two days later and the rain has hardly stopped throughout May and June.

Old Coaching Inn with Charm
Old coaching inn with busy bar. No elevator and rooms up long winding stairs and no staff to help carry bags so avoid if infirm or with loads of heavy bags. Breakfast superb and it’s very much in the center of town so great location. Service willing if a bit strained.
