![The church dates from the 12th century onwards and was restored by Fowler in the late 19th century. There is a large west tower, nave and chancel in one, and north vestry. The church is entered by the west doorway of the tower which dates from the late 12th century. The tower is of three stages with six large buttresses. It is some 16'3" square internally. Large size is an indication that the population at the time was greater. There is a large arch into the nave. The tower was enlarged in the late 14th century and there are battlements with pinnacles and gargoyles. There are three bells. By the late 18th-century the church was too big for the inhabitants of the parish and was in very poor condition. It was therefore rebuilt, except for the tower. In 1870 the nave and chancel were converted into one by James Fowler. The north vestry was added. Therefore the majority of the church except for the tower is from the 19th century, including the font. The reredos is by A. B. Skipworth and Conrad Dressler. The organ was originally built by Benjamin Flight and was purchased in 1935 from the Wesleyan Chapel in Kirton in Lindsey. "Hotel personnel were very helpful and friendly. Room, Toilet and shower very clean. Tea and coffee in the room was always replenished. The fan system air and refrigeration from the kitchen in the Beefeater was very loud especially at 05:30 AM. All in all I can recommend this hotel. 8 minutes with a Taxi to the train station."

"Room was clean and comfortable. I can understand the complaints about the room being warm but it did not bother me as a fan was provided in the room which was fine. Very convenient for Humber Bridge walk and Hull City Park n Ride. The whole feel of the place would be greatly improved by investing in ground keeping, weed spraying etc. Breakfast was ok for the price. I would stay there again. "

"We had a lovely stay and the hotel is gorgeous. We loved the old style bar and the decor in the rooms. There were, however, a few flaws which would be worth mentioning considering it is not a cheap hotel. Firstly, there was only one person on reception so we were queuing for a while to check in / out and there was no visible key drop. Secondly, throughout the hotel we noticed unfinished repairs and things that needed fixing such as toilet roll holder falling off the wall and a wall on the staircase covered in filler that hadn't been concealed. We booked separately as 3 couples and all three of our rooms was different and didn’t accurately reflect the prices we each paid, for example, our room cost the same as our friends but was significantly bigger with better views. Lastly, the breakfast service was really poor. We were in the breakfast room for an hour and we had to wait about 20 minutes for coffee and toast then the breakfast came and our friends coffee did not come until we were almost finished with the breakfast and their toast did not come until we had all finished breakfast so was not eaten. Staff never checked that we all had cutlery or crockery so we did have to ask a few times for an extra set of cutlery and a cup and saucer. The service was very slow and the food was average which is disappointing for £19.95 per person. Overall, we enjoyed our stay there and our day in Lincoln and would like to stay there again if we got a good deal price and we loved the room."
