The level of hospitality and kindness we received during this stay was unlike anything I have experienced back in the US. The views from our Hotel room were absolutely gorgeous. The owner and his staff all took great care of us. This was a truly wonderful experience that I will never forget. Highly highly Recommend.

Lake Shoji Hotel is a peaceful retreat with beautiful lake views and a great onsen. Perfect for a quiet and relaxing getaway.

Was a bit run down and dusty but for traditional Japanese floor mats they were really nice. Had a nice sitting area for viewing the lake. Staff had good English and were very accommodating since no elevator. There were a lot of hour restrictions on the sauna and bathhouse, didn't open till 3 so I was never there during the hours to use it. I just did one night which I regret as there were some clouds so never saw mount Fuji but beautiful anyways.

I was wanting to get away from the city and this place was perfect! They went above and beyond to host me. The owner was amazing as well as the staff. Plus the views from the room of Mount Fuji are incredible! This was my favorite hotel of my Japan trip.

What a beautiful hotel! Upon arrival, we were immediately greeted with hot beverage choices and the staff was so kind. There is no elevator but the staff offered to carry our bags to the room. The room was HUGE which was a very nice surprise. Beautiful tatami, even more beautiful view. Then, the outdoor onsen was a delight. It felt like we had the whole space to ourselves. We were extremely lucky and would happily book again!

The room we stayed in was a traditional style Japanese room where we slept on futons. They were very comfortable, and we had full views of Mt. Fuji from our room! The staff was incredibly kind and made sure we had everything we needed. They even tracked down the local bus for us when it was running a few minutes late and gave us tea and coffee while we waited. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for something a little quieter than the hustle of places near Lake Kawaguchi.

Perfect stay for seclusion.
The place is so beautiful, with the view of Mt. Fuji and lake Shoji. The room is spacious and has a dedicated balcony. The only disadvantage is that the location is rural and has no much access to public transportation. The bus took almost 3hours to arrive to. Taxi or drive your own car is the best option when staying in this hotel. It would be better if the hotel has a shuttle service that picks up and drop off guests from/to Kawaguchiko Station.

Unser Aufenthalt war super! Das gesamte Personal ist unglaublich freundlich, höflich, herzlich und hilfsbereit. Die Zimmer sind traditionell japanisch eingerichtet mit tollem Blick auf den Berg Fuji. Zu jeder Zeit war das Personal da, hat Getränke angeboten oder sich nett unterhalten. Vieles im Hotel wurde neu gemacht an der ein oder anderen Ecke müsste noch renoviert werden. Bleibt aber zweitrangig, da unser Aufenthalt super schön war. Danke vielmals!
