I have always wanted to stay in one of these tiny A Frame houses at Surfside Beach. They are very small, but we had a small group, so it was perfect. The place was a few blocks from the beach, very cozy and comfy, and the owner was great! We accidentally locked ourselves out once, and she had someone come immediately and let us in! She answered all our questions right away and was VERY helpful. Great stay!! ##### Sarah R. Though there are a few things that could be improved or changed, we’d stay here again. This was our first trip to Surfside, and we loved the small, quaint community! The beach was clean and not crowded. Owners communicated quickly and were helpful. Pros:-House was clean and super cute. Lots of beachy accessories. -Outdoor shower was really nice! -Porch on main level was nice to hangout on. -Kitchen is small but had everything we needed to cook and eat. -A/C works great -Quiet neighborhood Cons:-This property does not have beach access. You can see the ocean from the porch, but even the public beach access just down from the house leads you onto the rocky part of the beach. There is a public beach access about a 4-minute drive from the house, and it was easy to get to. -The stairs leading to the loft are STEEP. Though there is a picture of them, it doesn’t do it justice. They are narrow, slick, and don’t have an adequate handrail. I would be worried about having small children in this house. One of my friends fell all the way down the steps the last morning. -Water pressure and temperature are inconsistent. The only reliable hot water was in the outdoor shower. We didn’t have hot water in the kitchen till the last day, and it was intermittent in the inside shower.-Listing is for 6 people, but 4 adults maxed out the available room in the house. The house is very basic and simple which is all we needed and expected for the price. Owner was very helpful and worked with us extremely well. The kids already miss the triangle house! My one note, past reviews state the stairs are steep, I would more describe them as a large ladder in order to access the loft. This would be a tight fit for a family or multiple adults. For a couple it was an intimate space. Short drive to beach access and the fishing jetty. ##### Jessica C. We were glad we didn’t bring the whole family, because it would have been a very tight fit. Night 1 we noticed some small bugs, but nothing too big. We thought maybe it was just 1 or 2\. Night 2 of a 3 night stay we made dinner and sat down to eat at the small coffee table. We had a bread roll in a bag and salad in a bowl we hadn’t finished eating, and within 10 minutes when we went back for seconds, it had bugs in the closed bread bag and salad. When we let the owner know (sent pictures), they said the QUARTERLY service was schedule the next weekend, their cleaning people hadn’t noticed any bugs (which we didn’t either much until we made food), and that the previous guests must have brought them in. This is an unacceptable response. They should have discounted our stay and most importantly sent a local person to get big spray and spray the place. But clearly they need monthly service. And they need to not blame other renters. And they should have made an effort to correct the situation. I would not recommend staying here. Oh and the last morning we saw a cockroach the size of a thumb nail. We have stayed in many rentals and never had bugs much less a response like this. Never mind the smell of smoke in the AC, but that was minor compared to the bugs. ##### Daniel R.
