Second time here, will be back!
We love the farmstead. So much to do, short drives to waterfalls and rivers, or chill on the deck watching the cows, feeding the sheep, or just stare into the distance at the amazing scenery. It’s our second time here, first time was for 3 nights, this time was a week and we didn’t want to leave. My 5 year old learnt to ride his little dirt bike here. Created some amazing memories

Best holiday house minutes of out of town!
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the property manager made the process so simple and easy and made sure there was everything we needed. The house and area itself is to die for, many river spots or swimming holes to explore just at the property. We wouldn’t have to leave. The kids loved the space to run around and utilised all of the games room equipment, they never wanted to leave. We had 9 people in the end and we had plenty of room and was not on top of each other at all. We will be coming back for sure, we’re thinking of starting a family tradition to come back each year so the kids grow up remembering this place. Cannot recommend it enough.

Pure Bliss
We wanted to escape the Concrete jungle for few days, booked this Homestead. After 5 hour drive from Melbourne, we reached the place and it was serene. Getting to place is pretty easy, google maps will do and there are plenty of Signs. Easy checkin, farm animals are very close to property and they are very friendly. Ed came over and had a chat with us, we learnt a lot about Bright and what he does on his farm, was quite educational. Its a 150 acre property with absolute Privacy to enjoy the time with family. Morning walks, picnic watching the cows, kayak at the dam and there is so much to so. We absolutely loved the place and will come back with larger group for sure. Ed was an interesting Personality...

Great stay
We stayed at Riverbend as a group of five for a Hotham ski trip. The photos accurately described the homestead. It was incredibly warm heated by panel heaters, split system a/c, wood fire. Ed was a generous host and we wanted for nothing.

Big old comfortable roomy well equipped farmhouse in stunning valley. Great vistas with dramatic weather and clouds rolling down valley. Ed very friendly and helpful , sharing great local knowledge. Had some overseas family with us who loved the authentic Aussie farm experience. Highly recommend 👌

Fabulous Freeburgh stay
Wonderful farmstay accommodation. Plenty of room for 2 families plus grandparents. Ed was a great host who filled us in on all we could do whilst there, then left us alone to enjoy the amazing property. So many things for us all to do with all the equipment in the games area. The kids had a ball riding their dirt bikes, feeding the chickens, horse and ram. The scenery is so beautiful. We will definitely be going back again next year.

Perfect rural mountain location
We had a great time at the farm, swimming in the river, riding bikes and relaxing. Good location close to Bright and Feathertop trails. Love the atmosphere and views. Manager and rental process very efficient.

Amazing relaxing stay - Highly recommend
We spent 5 days here with our 2 kids, and none of us wanted to leave. They homestead is out of the busy town center, and is a very quiet place to relax. There are endless things on the farm to keep the kids busy, swimming at the dam, feeding the chickens and rams, bikes, table tennis - the list goes on. There are also a few great spots to float in the river to cool off. Ed is a fantastic host. We can't wait to go back.

Mums retreat!
Everything was absolutely perfect. Beautiful place for our group of 8 mum’s to escape for a long weekend. Lovely home, comfy beds, well equipped, with a cosy fire place. Each day started relaxed with a smile, as we soaked up the breathtaking farm and alpine views. Lots of relaxation, adventure and laughs to be had on this property and in the surrounding area. Wonderful place to go to recharge with friends and family. Wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you for having us.

Nature, view of snowcapped Mountain, farm animals under cover activity, plenty of space for kids.
With the weather not on our side the kids managed to stick keep themselves entertained with the garage under cover and warm fire place to sit around and enjoying quality family time. The views our the high country were stunning and when the sun was out it was beautiful to be able to enjoy breakfast under the patio and breathing the fresh crisp air. Great place for family quality time.

Mid August Skiing at Hotham
3rd time group of friends and family have stayed here - for the same purpose skiing and farm experience with kids. This time 7 kids and 4 Adults plus a toddler. Again a great time. Word Burner keeps whole house warm throughout the night. Kids love helping Ed the owner around the farm when not skiing. cheers.

An outback mountain experience
Our family spent just under a week at this property and we will be definately be back.The house was so cosey and accomodating and had such a welcoming feel to it. The kids enjoyed the activities that the property had to offer from feeding farm animals, collecting eggs to rowing the pontoon around the small pond. Over all a really great place to stay and make beautiful family memories and to teach your kids eco friendly living.

Feed Your Soul
Riverbend Homestead is beyond stunning. The property is on the border of the state forest, serene, green and private. Ovens River is a quick stroll down the field and you can catch some beautiful trout in a matter of minutes. Nights are fresh and pleasant, the view and the stars unbelievable. Plenty to do at the property, play soccer, volleyball, pick apples, walnuts, explore the farm. Drive down to Ed's to feed horses and sheep and of course, look after the chickens. Ed has been so welcoming, helpful and beyond accomodating. We spent the nights building a fire outside and roasting corn, apples, potatoes, and fish. Kids were nowhere to be seen, riding bikes Ed provides or playing ball. Thank you Ed for sharing your piece of heaven with our families. Jo

Love staying here.. It's an absolutely charming homestead, clean, well equipped and comfortable. We had a very relaxing and peaceful time staying on this farm. So easy to spend all day just watching the farm animals, and soaking up the breathtaking views or cooling off in the tranquil Ovens river. We also had great fun paddling in the dam, playing ping pong, dirt bike riding and going on other nearby adventures such as kayaking, bush walking, bike riding, abseiling (Mt Buffalo) and waterskiing (Lake Buffalo). A perfect mix of relaxation and adventure made for another wonderful holiday escape. Thank you for having us, we hope to come again.

Peaceful, calm setting, a glimpse of paradise and fun for all in perfect y location near to Bright, Mount Buffalo and Mt Beauty adventures. Really loved our stay at Riverbend. The house was clean and cozy. Kids had a good time playing ping pong, riding bikes, feeding animals, exploring the farm. Couldn't explore the farm fully due to intermittent rain, planning to visit again. Ed was a very friendly and supportive host.

Perfect family holiday
We stayed at this property during the winter school holidays with another family. We had 4 adults and 8 children between us. The children had the best time, we never once heard ‘I’m bored’. And the adults had time to put our feet up and relax. The house was spotless and had everything we needed.

Ed is a great host he is very approachable. The homestead is as described, the swimming hole and dam are great, but don't expect them at the back door, this is a farm. The kids had a ball with the sheep, hens, roster and horses, every day letting hens and roster out into the paddock (putting away again at night.) .Collecting eggs and feeding horses carrots. Beds were all comfortable. The home has 4 exit doors to the verandah and my husband was always forgetting which door his shoes were at, as no dirty shoes allowed inside (of course.) Lots of bikes for the kids, fire pits, bbq. we had a great time, what else can we say. Everything was easy from start to end. If you want Five star luxury, then go to the Hilton. If you want a great 5 star family holiday Eds Riverbend Homestead. is the place to go. Tnxs Ed for a great stay

Kitchen was well equipped to cater for large group. We prepared numerous meals for large number of people and were very happy with the range of kitchen appliances and cooking utensils. Bedrooms were spacious and beds were all comfortable. Plenty of extra bedding for the nights it is cold. Bathroom supplies were plentiful and each bathroom was spotless. Plenty of seating both inside and out with a range of areas to sit. The balcony was everyone's favorite place to relax after long days riding. Easy access to property and privacy meant the kids were safe riding around and the peacefulness was not interrupted by traffic.

What a wonderful place to stay. The homestead is perfect, very peaceful, surrounded by a lovely garden and breathtaking views. The house is clean, spacious and very well equipped. The beds are very comfortable and the home is adorned with lovely warm touches including handmade rustic timber furniture inside and out. Our family had such a great holiday. The Riverbend homestead was an easy place to relax, unwind and forget about life’s troubles but also lots of fun. On the farm we enjoyed stand up paddle boarding in the dam, bike riding, family ping pong challenges, dirt bike riding, watching the farm animals, feeding the chooks and collecting the eggs, playing soccer on the pitch, floating down the river on lilo’s, wildlife spotting and taking in the beautiful views from the verandah, at the end of each warm summers day. If that wasn’t enough we also got to have lots of fun and adventure exploring the surrounding areas. Including Abseiling and rock climbing at Mt Buffalo, wake boarding at Lake Buffalo, bike riding, whitewater kayaking on the Ovens river, bush walking, and exploring lots of waterholes & waterfalls. What a fabulous getaway. Perfect for our family and teenage boys! Stayed 8 nights and the Xbox was never missed! Thoroughly recommend staying at the Riverbend homestead. We’ve already booked to come back again and can’t wait.

Fantastic Farm Stay
From the moment we drove up the homestead driveway to the moment we left everything was perfect! Our group of 3 generations, including 5 kids under 6 had an amazing holiday at Riverbend Homestead. The farmhouse was well equipped with everything we needed. The kids enjoyed the open spaces to run around and ride bikes but especially loved feeding and interacting with the animals and collecting eggs from the chickens. The adults loved sitting on the wide verandas soaking in the beautiful views. Its an easy 10 min drive to Bright, close to the trout farm, if you want to leave the farm at all! Ed was a friendly and very helpful host full of information. Would definately recommend this stay and hope to be back one day.

We were a group of 6 adults and 6 kids and stayed there for 6 days!! All loved the animals there, feeding them every morning. Kids loved the beds and the room! There was plenty of sports equipments available with a great play area. We had enough things to do over a week -played various games( you name any game , Ed has arranged facilities for you to enjoy!), did rafting, bathe in the river, did mountain climbing, bush walks, animal feeding, camp fire, smoker, BBQ , fishing...... and many more. Kids also loved the cricket pitch as well as the open space. That was a great holiday ! Our host Ed was very friendly and helpful. This is a great holiday destination for a big family with kids !!

A perfect holiday home
A fantastic property on a working farm with a great host. The house was clean, a good size, warm, even when minus degrees outside, with a brilliant log fire and electric heaters when needed. Ed was a fountain of information about what to do in the area and about the farm and history. We had a lovely time fishing in the river and the dam even with some success! The biking around the area is fantastic and so many great walks in Mount Buffalo NP. Sadly no snow when we stayed but Mount Hotham definitely near enough. Highly recommend it for a chilled family holiday. We hope to be back.

Freeburgh Farm Stay with Beautiful Views
Our multiple families holiday couldn't have been more perfect from the booking process and communication with Ed the owner as to arriving and checking in the kids had so much fun plenty if outdoor space to explore also feeding chickens, cows, horse's the quintessential farm cottage we roasted marshmallows in the outside fire area we walked down to the river we stayed for a long weekend and didn't need to leave as the kids had the time of their life family totally enjoyed our time never once heard that we're bored amazing considering we had 8 kids with us loved thus family holiday

We had a great time at Riverbend with 3 families (6 adults, 5 kids aged 6-12). There was more than enough space for everyone. The kids had a great time feeding the chickens, sheep and alpaca and riding bikes and scooters around the property. The kids also had fun kayaking and floating around in the dam. The stars at night were amazing. Our only downside was that the river wasn’t as accessible from the property as we had expected. Thanks for having us!

Weekend Skiing
Three Families - 5 Adults & 6 Children. Kids had a ball. Loved the farm, meeting horses, Sheep & Lama. Farmer Ed had the kids helping with some farm work on the Monday morning which they loved. House is great, very warm with enclose fire. It is a farm house and not super modern, but comfortable and clean. Skiing at Hotham was awesome also.

A great family holiday where our kids enjoyed farm life and we the parents were able to sit back and relax. The house is fully equipped with everything you could need. The owner Ed is a great host and eager to help with any needs that arise. Also great spot to get to Mt Hotham for some snow play too. Will be back!
