The hotel Pearl is located about 15 minutes from FRA and is within walking distance of the train station, the Main river and the infamous Red Light District. It is easy to find, however Street parking is difficult and on-site parking is €20 per night.
Having just spent a night in Grand Junction, Colorado at a similarly-priced hotel, the Pearl far exceeds the value of its American counterparts. The room may be smaller but the quality difference is undeniable. The American motel was a franchise that was run down, poorly kept and did not include breakfast. Everything at the Pearl, except for parking, was much better quality, from the paint on the walls to the staff.
The lobby at the Pearl is well-maintained and immediately gave me an idea of what the rest of the hotel would be. The man at the front desk happened to be part of the family that owns the hotel. His English was excellent, and he was happy to engage in conversation beyond being helpful in directing me towards the things that I wanted to see and do.
The Wi-Fi connect very easily and signal is strong throughout hotel, however certain thing, such as Angry Birds, don't work. WhatsApp works fine.
The room has a window a small refrigerator with snacks and a mini bar, and the bathroom is fairly standard except the shower is higher quality having a large rain shower head and a wand.
Breakfast is bountiful. Hot and typical cold options premium coffee machine, premium tea, 2 fruit juices and milk.
