Piazza Santa Croce is busy but not as busy as some of the main areas in Florence. There are convenient shops including a nice coffee shop, sandwich shop, delicious restaurants, and the gold & leather market all within the piazza or very closeby. This apartment is on floor 2 but there are actually 2 floors to climb so just be aware. Apartment was updated and very spacious but could have been slightly better appointed with some coffee supplies to get started. Living room could also use additional comfy furniture. About a 25 minute walk to the airport tram station at Unita. Didn't use them but a cab gathering spot is just across the piazza. The apartment was clean and had everything we needed. The location is indeed excellent - within walking distance of all the major landmarks of Florence and a mere 5-7 minute walk from the Arno river. Enjoyed the "farmer's market" which was going on when we were there. Purchased delicious fresh meats and cheese! Four of us stayed here and there was plenty of room. Two full baths and a half bath was a nice addition. Air conditioning was nice and cooled it down in about 10 minutes. We saw Florence Duomo and toured the Galleria dell'Accademia. My son said we had to grab a sandwich at All'antico Vinaio, so we shared one and it was delicious. We also did a wine tour in the Tuscan Countryside and thoroughly enjoyed the scenery and wine.
