Well placed, it is clear this used to be a luxurious hotel. Some features point to that. The rest, the details that make a good night sleep, a great shower, are cheap , tacky or simply put in place with their price in mind, not the customer's comfort. First night, we barely slept. The cushions were super hard and they'd covered the bed in two sets of plastic protectors making it the loudest and most uncomfortable mattress. Second night, they changed the pillows and took off the plastic, leaving the mattress to be just uncomfortable. The shower head kept coming off because the lead was too rigid, covered in plastic. Apart from fruits, there was no sight of fresh anything, baked or otherwise. The staff appeared snooty.... We did not feel we could bring anything to their attention as they only had one thing to say: "oh, come on, it's fine, surely it's ok."

We arrived at night, the receptionist at this time did not speak english and it was a little hard to communicate but was OK. At day time the receptionist spoke english. Overall friendly staff. Breakfast is basic, excellent coffee. It was easy to find the hotel and park our car in it's parking. Rooms are good, AC is working but was a little hard to control. The hotel is close to a very nice small local market and not far from all the museums and attractions of the old center.

della Robbia is a classic hotel. It is well staffed, convenient and courteous. It is just away,800m, from tour sites. Breakfast is perfect. Rooms are spacious and comfortable.

Great stay at hotel Della Robbia
This was an excellent hotel outside of the ZTL. We had a car and they provided parking which in that area is a plus. The hotel was a little hard to spot as the sign is small and in residential area. Room was beautiful and well equipped. Staff was most excellent and very helpful in helping us navigating the city. Would have been helpful for parking instructions on their email but other than that a great stay.

Great value but not without downsides
Great location of the hotel not far from the main attractions. The younger of the gentleman on reception was very smiley, polite and courteous and very helpful. Breakfast was adequate and fine. Beds were a bit hard and again very small and sadly not comfortable gave me back ache, (Must be something about Italy) The air con was fine but noisy on full which meant it would disrupt sleep, also the cleaners jabbering on the landing from 7am means you will not get to sleep in. If these matters could be ironed out then worthy of four star hotel or even higher.

The hotel is within reasonable walking distance from the main attractions in Florence. It offers free parking, which is quite nice. On the day we check out, staff helped us out and let us park the car at the hotel until 2 pm so we can spend more time in Florence in the morning before we leave.

Nice, cute hotel
Only complaint is the bed was a bit too hard. Very clean, nice staff, quiet area. Breakfast was basic, but enough to get you going. We had a quiet room on the 3rd floor. Bit far to walk to all the sights in the heat, but city bus was close by.

Modern traditional, close to the centre
Comfortable suite, plenty of space and lovely open beams in ceiling was a very beautiful. Staff were very helpful. 15 minute easy walk into centre of florence. Beds were very hard, and although rooms are provided with electric mosquito deterant, still got a lot of bites. Wi-Fi was poor signal on top floor.

Very comfortable stay close to downtown Florence
Classically decorated and very clean/comfortable hotel. We stay on the ground floor of the detached unit in the back. We mainly picked this spot for the location and that it came with free private parking. We definitely liked that the car was safe in a gated parking lot (behind the main building). We had to leave our car key with them as the lot is small and they could double park and move cars around. It wasn't a really big deal, but we also had to give our room key to the staff member on duty whenever we left the hotel (I guess it was for our safety, too, in case we got pick pocketed or robbed). Location is about a 25 minute walk from the main Florence sights. Not too much going on in the area, otherwise.

Excellent staff
Hotel Della Robbia is a 3* hotel with free parking located outside the city walls (and the ZTL). The centre is about a 15 minute walk on the flat. There is a bar and breakfast room, but no restaurant. It is in an Art Nouveau building with lots of character. The room was comfortable, with a safe and fridge. Staff were outstandingly helpful. Would definitely stay again if returning to Florence.

Excellent Hotel, one of the cleanest we have stopped in, Staff always on hand, very helpful, nothing too much trouble. A bit of a walk to city but would stop here again, breakfast excellent, good choice. The hotel is in the Art Nouveau style, highly recommended !

Nice hotel not so far from the old city

Our room was not in the main building. Somehow the heating system didn’t work. It was cold in evening. The breakfast is basic and the lady is very sweet and helpful. With free and safe parking, walkable distance to everywhere... good stay.

Charming hotel with helpful staff
The mattresses on the beds in the room were a bit hard and the air-conditioning did not work, which was a big problem as the room was stuffy. The Expedia web-site said that it had air-conditioning -- but it did not work !!!! So the Expedia web-site was wrong and misleading. The only alternative was to open the small windows, in which case we got a lot of unpleasant traffic and street noise.

People and breakfast were wonderful! Location was safe and nice. Bed was like a brick, pillows were flat as a pancake and nouse was incredibly load on street side in early morning.

WOW! We stayed 10 nights in Italy and this was an extremely nice hotel. GREAT if you are traveling by car. Nice location, beautiful lobby and room was very spacious. Very relaxing area.

Nice hotel, well positioned, nicely furnished. Staff very helpful. I overall had a pleasant stay, I will be back. Only one drawback: the shower was really tiny: upon booking ask for a room with a normal shower.

Beautiful hotel close to downtown Florence
Gorgeous hotel, great service and atmosphere. Only thing was the beds in our room were single beds. My 6'4" son had his feet hanging over the edge. Wish they could offer double or queen size beds even for a people of average height. More turning room would have been more comfortable. Overall, we felt very safe and our needs were met. Thankyou to all the friendly staff.

Nice hotel with friendly staff and good breakfast. Far from city centre, hence good value compared to prime location accommodation. Room small but nice, extra bed a bit shabby but did the job. The decor more than made up for the odd hair on the bathroom floor - it was very evocative of Della Robbia style and felt elegant and luxurious

Shower was durty. Bed and pillows very uncomfortable and hard. Furniture looks old; however, the floor and bathroom (just with shower) looks like it was remodeled. Good wifi. Excellent service if you speak Italian. Some front desk clerks don't speak English. Best of all is the free parking.

Traditional hotel with parking and access to buses
Chosen because of access to buses to Florence but with parking for our rental car. Not expensive, perfectly clean, with good breakfast and helpful reception staff, although the room was a bit dated. But that doesn't really bother us.

Staff are amazing!
Upon arriving at this hotel, reception was very attentive in helping us check in, getting our car in the parking lot and just being very considerate. Location is great. Parking is free!!! It is a 20 minute walk from the main area providing you don't stop at the many interesting sites along the way. We had the family room as we travelled with our adult children. The room and bathroom were very spacious. The only negative thing is the pull out couch (used as bed) is extremely uncomfortable. The main bed was fine. We would definitely stay here again. Breakfast was very good. It was very European with breads, cheeses, eggs and yogurts. Staff again was very attentive.

Decent location, comfortable and good staff.
Very nice hotel in a quiet area. Quite close to most of the main sights and restaurants. Slight problems with the hotel were an extremely hard bed and it was very, very cold in the room at night and in the morning. They do not turn the heating on until November which is a few weeks to late. Night temperatures were 5c-8c so it was very cold in the room.

Great location, WORST BED EVER!!
The Good: Free parking (small parking lot, but it worked), free breakfast (continental), close to the city center (about 15 mins walking), cute building and rooms. The bad: THE BED!!!!!!! One of the most important thing about staying at a hotel is sleeping there. (For most I imagine, though I am sure there are some outliers), and these beds are the worst. Moreover, on this site, the page for the hotel says "Sleep Number by Select Comfort mattress". SO FAR FROM THE TRUTH. The mattress looked like it was 20+ years old. I understand beds in other countries aren't the most comfortable. China is a great example. But honestly, one of the reasons why I picked this hotel was because of the claim they had Sleep Number beds. I woke up so stiff, so sore, that it mde the rest of my trip in Italy a bit challenging

Perfect Stay
Perfect stay in beautiful Florence. Hotel situated slightly east of city but within a walking distance of Duomo. Lovely interior to hotel. Feels very Art Neuveau. Staff very friendly and always happy to help with the smallest of requests. Happy to recommend. Thank you.

Easy to get around
The staff were friendly there is a bus stop around the corner and a train station within a 5 min walk. Breakfast was good. The hotel facilities suited our needs very clean, the wifi worked well. If you want to walk into the city it will take around 20 mins and an easy walk.
