With tempting views of the beach from the front veranda, its super versatile floor plan makes it ideal for large families, intragenerational families or two families to share for a good old fashioned beach holiday. The home is also only 10 mins drive to Nelson Bay. Fingal Bay Beach House is located at the southern end of the beach, affectionately referred to as Kiddie’s Corner. This protected stretch of the beach is perfect for children as it’s sheltered from big waves and typically has the type of small rolling waves that kids can spend hours enjoying. Waves just right for learning to surf or bodyboard, standup paddle boarding, kayaking and snorkelling. The beach is often patrolled by Surf Life Savers who set up flags indicating the best place to swim. There’s an amenities block, and BBQs and picnic tables are scattered along the grassy reserve adjacent to the beach. Bring the kids’ bikes and scooters or simply wander north along the pathway, that runs parallel with the beach, in only a few hundred meters you’ll discover a wonderful children’s playground and the Surf Life Saving Club’s cafe and restaurant. At low tide you can venture over the Fingal Spit and spend time exploring Fingal Island and see the light house. Fingal Bay Beach House consists of two separate cottages, which are only meters apart and have an undercover deck between them. Right Side Cottage - Sleeps 2, it consists of one bedroom with a queen bed, an open plan dining room, lounge room and fully equipped kitchen, a bathroom and a lovely sunny, north facing, wrap around veranda. There’s air con and a ceiling fan in the lounge room and a ceiling fan in the bedroom. Left Side Cottage - Sleeps 6, it consists of two bedrooms with ceiling fans. There’s also a bathroom, laundry with washer and dryer, and lounge room, with a sofa bed (suitable for two children upon application), air con plus a ceiling fan and sliding doors which open onto a large undercover entertaining deck, complete with outdoor dining setting. Here, behind a roller door, the outdoor kitchen houses a sink, fridge and built-in BBQ. This is the perfect spot for everyone to congregate, relax and cook up holiday feasts, while the kids play on the grass. There’s also a double carport, off street parking for two and street parking. Would consider staying againI only marked down because it wasn’t clear that 2 of the bedrooms were in a detached building. You had to get into the actual spiel when I looked back that I must not fully of read. This wasn’t an issue for us because our kids are older but could be if you had young children. Also there are a couple of maintenance issues that need attending and the garden area is very moist which brings mosquitoes so couldn’t really sit outside in the rear. I tried to contact the host. However there was no response. The next morning I called the port Steven’s office and was told a man named Aaron which I assume is a maintenance worker was coming to have a look. However he never came. Due to poor weather, our small children and the fact that the fridge was full of food we were unable to go out for meals which made things particularly difficult. Great location. Great location and proximity to beach. Loved the property layout for two families with the additional outdoor kitchen which was such a hit with our family. Unfortunately the premises had some serious concerns. Cleaning was a horror story which we observed on day one when my daughter’s dust allergy immediately kicked into overdrive. I have never experienced a situation quite like it. Beneath the beds was a thick layer of dust (not exaggerating) which points to the cleaning team and lack of inspection by the management team. I must acknowledge the responsiveness of the office who assisted with getting in first one cleaner who did half a job and then another cleaner who did a great job. The shower in the studio had a leak which flooded the floor and in the end we couldn’t use it. Once they get the cleaning and some repairs done the premises will offer a lovely stay. The office offered a late checkout as a result of the cleaning issues which we were unable to take advantage of due to prior arrangements. ##### Julian B. My husband and I had a wonderful stay here with our adult daughter. Fantastic layout if the premises was better than any where else we had stayed. Well stocked kitchen and outdoor kitchen was a great touch. Very comfortable beds and view to the beach was a wonderful bonus. Highly recommend this property and will look forward to a return visit. The property is in a fabulous location only 50m from the sand, and the booking / check-in was very smooth. Unfortunately we were not satisfied with the cleanliness and maintenance of the property (blocked overflowing gutters in the covered sitting area, BBQ could not be made to work, water leaked into the laundry area and we observed 3-4 cockroaches during our stay). Nothing some more diligent pest control and maintenance couldn't address so hope it is fixed for future guests as really is a lovely spot. ##### Paul O. It was clean and tidy on our arrival, also well equipped for our holiday. It was setup (pet-friendly wise) for our travelling dog. Livingroom A/C not functioning properly. Was repaired promptly by office management. Late checkout would have been good but the late fee was over the top. We exited before 10am. We would stay there again as beach access was spot-on. ##### David M.
