We had the pleasure of staying in this Fiad this past weekend. It was advertised as a three bedroom deluxe suite. I was sharing it with friends. Once we arrived, we were told that that room was not available. They don’t have anything that is three bedrooms. We were a little off put because we had done a lot of research and looked at the pictures of the three bedroom suite. Myriam and staff, however, bent over backwards and was able to accommodate us into a different suite. They did not charge us extra and made sure our stay was comfortable. They also arranged a guide for us to see the Medina as well as a day trip the next day to, see Meknes and Volubilis. It’s a lovely property with an even more lovely staff.

Great choice
Amazing riad with very cool owners. We arrived late and left after breakfast, but sure had a great experience. Rooms are very cool. Wonderful for families. Our family booked 4 rooms for 9 people but cold have used just 3. Breakfast was lovely in the gorgeous courtyard and there is a small pool (really for children). Wish we could have stayed two nights.

Family Holiday
We stayed as a family of 4 with a young child for 3 nights. The place is very authentic and clean. It is located very central in the old town and Medina, just a short walk to the Blue gates (Bab Boujloud). The staff are very welcoming, friendly and accommodating. They helped organise a local tour of Fez plus airport transfers. Pool is a little too cold for winter (it is not heated), but one not to miss is the top balcony, as it is very relaxing and provides a nice view of the city. Thoroughly recommended.

Nice staff and good food
The riad is well-situated and clean, but a bit dated. No hose for toilet which is surprising for Morocco. Staff are helpful and friendly. Breakfast is good. Dinner also - much better than other roads around and they have wine.

Great location beautiful Riad
Amazing 700 year old Riad in the Médina close to the Blue Gate. Very attentive staff- not hard to find but they will guide you when you arrive. Breakfast served each morning and you can choose to have dinner as well ( we did not). They have red & rose wine by the bottle for purchase which is nice. Breathtaking architectural detail and atmosphere.

The riad is gorgeous and incredibly clean. The staff - especially Imame, Meriam and Ziane - are amazing! If you are able to have dinner at the riad - highly recommend it, as you will not be disappointed. They also booked a guide for us and she was wonderful.

A nice and peaceful riad in a convenient location
The riad was in a convenient location, just about 3 minutes walk to the main road. There were only 6 rooms in the riad so we felt that we’re staying at a private home rather than a hotel. The riad was beautifully decorated and the staff there were very friendly and helpful. We had dinner at the riad the first night, it was one of the best meals we had in Morocco!

Service is number one in Fes
The service is amazing! You will call in love with the people working there. I highly recommend doing the dinner there as many times as possible, it was the highlight to our fes trip.

Beautiful Riad
After a long ang and tiring journey we were warmly welcomed upon arrival, served mint tea and then shown to our beautiful, spacious and very comfortable room. What was really amazing was the fireplace which we utilized daily. It was supplied with wood everyday and lighted for us when we desired. Just delightful. The entire staff was helpful, and wanted to make or stay as pleasant as possible.

Absolutely beautiful perfectly run Riad
The building inside is absolutely gorgeous - perfectly restored with great attention to detail and no expense spared. Lovely cosy fireplace by which to sit and have meals in winter, upstairs rooftop terrace in summer. Large rooms all differently decorated in traditional style with fantastic tiled bathrooms. The staff can't do enough for you - very kind, friendly and attentive, willing to provide whatever you need at any time of day, or night! All up a wonderful experience of a top Riad. Thanks to all !

Employees were extremely accommodating and made sure that I was happy and comfortable. The free breakfast was beautiful and delicious, you couldn't ask for more. The rooms were spotless. I'Ve never had my duvet cover and pillowcases changed every day before. I highly recommend this riad.

Beautiful little gem in Fès old town
We found the staff at Riad la Clé to be amazingly friendly and hospitable. The Riad itself is a beautiful building with a plunge pool and roof terrace to spend some time away from the hussle and bussle of the medina. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone wanting to experience an old style fes visit

Wonderful Fez Riad

A magical place
We had already stayed in two riads-- both (very) good-- in Marrakech and Rabat respectively. But Riad de le cle was truly outstanding, the best one yet. The location is perfect, both extremely quiet and only 100-200 meters from the center of the Medina. The Riad itself is beautiful-- four stories of ornate architecture and wonderfully decorated, comfortable, and spatious rooms. The view from the terrace is incredible. Finally, the food and the staff are top notch. Meriam and Mohammed in particular were always helpful with everything from finding a great place to eat to booking a tour to everyday comfort. A fantastic experience!

My girlfriend and I are in our 30s from New York City and stayed in Fes for one night. Absolutely beautiful riad in fez. Room was very large with premium bedding. Service was great. Host was highly responsive in arranging a tour guide, taxi and ensuring we found the hotel.

We loved this Riad! all of the stuff go out of their way to make you feel at home, from the minute you arrive. they can arrange tours and excursions but they don't push them in any way. The food was very nice and varied each day. The location is great...quiet but just a five minute walk to the busy part of the medina. I recommend it highly!

Situated on the edge of the markets with close access for cars and luggage. The plunge pool was welcome after a hot day in the markets. Peaceful rooftop lounging area and friendly helpfulness staff. I would be confident to recommend this riad to the most discerning traveller.

In the centre, but not deep into the maze of Fes!
The place itself is great but being a restored house don't expect to get the shiny style of a modern hotel - which I saw as a plus. Even so it has all the amenities needed, only thing that could be there is a TV, but even so, you'd probably only get local TV which I believe most of us would struggle to understand or not be interested at all. The staff is great and the food of high quality. Room was very clean and the usual extras like soap, shampoo, etc. were local hand made-style (if not hand made indeed) products instead of known brands - it is a nice touch and a good opportunity to try them as they smell great and most likely have a lot less chemicals than the one we usually use. Location wise it is in the old town, but not too far from the walls, so you will manage to find it ok during your exploration of Fes. At arrival, if you (or your taxi driver) ring just before you get there, they're most likely to send a member of staff to pick you up - this is because cars can't that near (just some 100m away or so, but still make sure you memorise the way to get there).

A lovely Riad in the west end of the Medina
Riad Les Cle de Fes is an architectural gem in the west end of the Medina. The Riad is in the Medina proper, with a narrow winding approach lane, but it's not deep in the Medina, but very close to the popular west end and Place Batha, so the location is great for most tourism. The inner court yard is a lovely architectural marvel and a lovely place to relax away from the chaos of the Medina. It's also more sound-proof (room-to-room noise across the courtyard) than many Riads, so that's a bonus. The pool is on the ground floor, deep down, so sunlight is limited, but it's just a soaking pool to wash away the heat of the day. The rooftop terrace is higher than anything else around and provides a lovely view of the medina dropping down the hill to the east. A dinner on top is a recommended. Staff was very friendly. Only negative was a double bed that was just two twins put together, but that was an issue in only 1 room. Two other rooms did not have that issue. A higher-end riad for Fes.

Loved this place- lived up to its tripadvisor reviews. Totally peaceful, excellent service, such nice staff, and we got to do our laundry. Made a relaxing atmosphere to return to after crazy days in the medina and surrounding towns. Only wish we were there when it wasn't winter so we could have made use of the rooftop and pool.

A lovely experience. The Riad La Cle de Fes was a real Oasis. It had a family feel about it with friendly staff and was very comfortable indeed. The rooms were spacious and stylish. We felt welcomed and well looked after especially at the end of a long day traversing the medina and stimulating the Moroccan economy. It is quiet and very well located, in the Medina but with access by car so no struggling through the Medina fighting off offers to direct you in contradictory directions to secure a good price. Thanks to all the staff and Mohammed in particular for his singing and dancing as he served food. The cold remedy he gave us each night was most appreciated.

The Riad is a reasonably well-located restored 14th century riad. It has been carefully renovated by an owner who clearly cares about the Riad. That said, we did not really enjoy our stay. The rooms are big, but cold and dry in the winter (to be fair, its almost impossible to heat a room with more than 20 foot ceilings!). We were also a little disappointed in the recommendations of the staff there. The first night we asked for a nice nearby restaurant and we were taken to perhaps the worst meal of our entire trip in a restaurant filled with egually disgruntled tourists expecting something better. Secondly, we requested a tour guide with knowledge of the city's history for the next day which we were assured was no problem. This guide was apathetic to say the least and only had interest in dragging us for one store to the next - despite our stated lack of interest in buying things. At the end of the tour, he also tried to charge us more than the agreed price. When we shared our complaint with the Riad manager, she seemed less than concerned at our displeasure. In short, its a beautiful place and reasonably well-located. We were not very comfortable there however, due both to the lack of heat and service.
