A couple of situations made staying at this property a nightmare. First of all, the Room was PAID before the guest arrived!!!! The guest was invited to a United Nations meeting one day after the check-in. Unfortunately she misunderstood the prices at the restaurant and ran out of cash paying for a meal at the hotel. It was a 2 DOLLAR DIFFERENCE!!!! But the hotel refused to put it in the room to be paid later and gave the guest a really hard time about it. Because she ran out of money we tried desperately to send her some cash to attend the meeting the next day giving that The United Nations was going to give her a Visa card at the meeting. We tried to contact the property by different channels, chat, phone call, email but no luck. Only until a Brazilian friend called from Miami we understood that the hotel ASUMED the guest was not able to pay for the room, that was already paid, and refused to help. To make things even worse she was charged almost 30 PERCENT of the total bill as Service fee!!! We understand some charges but 82 dollars of a two night stay for 280 dollars??? We will recommend The United Nations to remove this property of the suggested hotels even if it’s close to the meeting venues. Nobody would like a 30 percent surprise service fee plus a very unhelpful staff. The bill was not even in English and with the following fee description: TAXA SERV. HOSPITAL. (GORJETA) 30.00 ISS 9.00 DIFERENCIA DE DIARIA 300.00 Not very helpful at all!

Dear Mr. Julian, good morning!Thank you for assess us. We would like to apologize about any misunderstood that may had happen.As only the rates were paid beforehand, during the check-in, the receptionist offers to the guest the option to leave a pre-authorized credit card for extra consumption, so this way all the consumptions would be putted in the room. As she chose not to leave a credit card, expenses should be paid directly at the restaurant. That's way was asked for the payment after her dinner and wasn't possible to put it in the room.The charge that appears as TAXA SERV. HOSPEDAGEM. (GORJETA) 30.00 ISS 9.00 DIFERENCA DE DIARIA 300.00 it's not about a service fee. How our check-in starts at 2PM and the guest arrived at 8AM, we normally charge a new daily for check-in this time, but, the receptionist made a special rate for the check-in at 8AM and this was negotiated and explained to the guest and she agreed so she can went to the room when she arrived and had breakfast . So this isn't about a service fee, this amount (R 300,00) was charged for the early check-in, and on this value there are fees of 13% (TAXA SERV. HOSPITAL. (GORJETA) 30.00 ISS 9.00) that are the total appears in the bill.I would like to beforehand apologize for any misunderstanding and inconvenience that has been caused. We are already in contact with all the departments to align more assertive communication and processes.We also have a Guest Relations department that cares of guests from embassies, international organizations and special requests. We didn't find informations in her reservations that was a United Nations guest, so our Guest Relations department wasn't able to take care.The Royal Tulip Brasília Alvorada is known as the embassies hotel, as we welcome guests from all over the world and have the pleasure of hosting many of the delegations that come to Brasilia. In view of this, we are sorry that the guest had a different experience from so many of the guests we receive.We stay disposal for any other questions.

A lovely stay in Brasilia! The pool area with lake view is nice, and the breakfast had a large variety. Would stay here again.

A stunningly beautiful hotel
We were overwhelmed by the beauty of this hotel and its location on the lake. The restaurant buffet was adequate although not as amazing as the architecture.

Another Great Stay at the Royal
This is, in my experience, the best hotel in Brasilia and among the best anywhere. The facilities are terrific, the food is excellent, and the best thing about the hotel is the incredibly friendly and helpful staff.

Restaurant & Maid very poor service, loud at night
This is a very poor service level hotel. At priced paid i thought it would be much better…. But it isn’t. We stayed tues through sunday… we asked for maid service on Wednesday and they got around to us on FRiday. Told manager about it and he tried to blame me for not putting clean up card on door ( i am a veteran extreme frequent traveler i think i know how to flip the door card to “ request maid service “. Also even though they advertise TWO RESTAURANTS , actually after 2:30pm no restaurant to have lunch at ( the have a small pool side bar that offers limited menu… not a restaurant). And even when restaurant is open for lunch it has limited menu where waiter gives u a list of “suggestions “- and no other menu options.- suggestions meant no reasonable menu from this “ two restaurant hotel” other restaurant only opens at night. I was Very disappointed with this hotel given the cost per night and their offerings in description they have on website. Better hotels with real service near TV tower area

We already asked to our Housekeeper for her to reinforce with the team this procedure.In our hotel we have the Herbs restaurant that works to the breakfasn and for lunch. The lunch runs from 12am to 3:30pm. Our pool bar, the Bar do Capitão, runs from 11:00 am to 19:00 and starting at 19:00 hours our Bistro The Old Bar offers options to eat and drink.We really apologize for the points that wans't accordingly with your expectations and we take advantage to inform that your comment was putted in our last Manager meeting to be discussed with all our management so that the necessary actions can be taken.We hope to see you again!

The only place to stay in Brasilia! Nice quiet area right next to the presidential palace, but 10-15 mins from the city center and airport. Located on the lake it does not feel like you’re in a large metropolis.

13 Years of Visits to Brasilia: Royal Is the Best!
The facilities at the Royal Tulip are truly wonderful--as you can see from the photos. The food is also wonderful, especially the breakfasts, but also the excellent dinners and cocktails at The Old Barr (the pub in the lobby). But what separates the Royal from every other hotel we've stayed at in Brasilia over the past 12 years is the staff. The people who work for the Royal Tulip are so friendly and welcoming that we actually consider them our family friends. Joao, Cicero, and especially Luciene, stand out as exemplars--real human beings with hearts and souls. We look forward to seeing each of them--and others equally welcoming but not named here--at each of our visits.

I had to ask for toilet paper replacement twice without success. They renovated the room but not the bathroom. The shower drain does not drain the water and ends up flooding and leaking all over the bathroom. Old problem that has occurred before.

Clean place, staff in the pool are great, view and place are amazing. Nice place to rest and have good time. Food is not cheap but it is very well served. Breakfast is amazing with nice view. Opportunity to improve playground and better use of the stairs to move between floors. Good value for vacation or business trip.

Great Lakefront Hotel But Needs Some Renovations
We stayed for a couple of days during our visit to see family. The grounds, pool and service was top notch for the price. However, the furnishing in the room was kind of disappointing; condition of shower, AC, bathroom lighting could be better. I've had better breakfast in 3-star and 4-star hotels in Brazil, so it didn't meet my expectations for a 5-star hotel. Spa was the best, but again the showers need some repairs and lighting needs renovations. Overall, good location, pool & landscaping, friendly and welcoming service, but could be better with some remodeling.

Front desk and pool area staff were excellent. However, bathroom totally unaccepted, flood during bath time was quite common. It seems that the glass doors are not closing properly. Dinner at the restaurant was the worse time ever, meat overcooked and took forever. Waiters were kind of lost with the excuse: we do not have enough employees. In addition, despite paying the bill upfront, I was charged at check-out again.

The staff was very friendly and accomodating, and there was at least one member at the front desk who spoke English. The grounds were well groomed especially near the pool area. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend this hotel to others traveling to Brasilia.

Great view, pool and beautiful facility right by the lake. We were traveling with a little one and enjoyed hanging by the pool, one of the best features in the hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful when we asked farthings like warm mineral water or for helping making a pure for our eight months old. We will definitely come back if in Brasilia again.

The hotel is good and the service is great. The rooms and facilities need updating. The breakfast is great. Upon check in they ask you which window time you want for breakfast but there is no control at the dining room area as it felt too crowded.

The rooms are good, and facility ok. When we arrived, the water in the bathroom was turned off, there was none available. It took 2 phone calls to get that fixed. The next day, the minibar was not replenished leaving us without drinking water. Another 2 calls later and a visit to the front desk finally produced the required response. Very disappointed in the staff. All have an institutional attitude to guests, as if guests are a nuisance.

On that day, there was a general power problem in the whole neighborhood and for that reason we had a break in the engine room causing the water problem. However, it was quickly resolved. We had an incredible stay. This was a birthday "staycation" for us...we could practically see our apartment from the hotel. It was a wonderful get-away. I would go every weekend if I could. The pool experience was fantastic. The service was amazing - there should be more stars available in the rating system to rate the staff.

Disappointing
The reception was really nice. The room is spacious and the location by the lake is beautiful. Nonetheless, the food is disappointing. The pool was crowded and dirty, so I didn't use it. The service at pool area was partly outsourced and some security guards were rude. Some motor boats pass by at dusk with loud music.

Great Getaway on the Lake
A great spot to take a break from the city, with excellent food and a wonderful spa.
