Quaint old fashioned inn currently in the process of refurbishment. Clean and comfortable with friendly staff. Breakfast was very good with quality ingredients used.

Pros: the old style and feel in the inn and town was nice. Millie (receptionist?) and Dale (manager) were friendly and welcoming. The room was spacious and clean enough for us. Also, parking on site was free! Cons: the wifi was weak in our room (9) and the shower drain wasn't very efficient.

Nice and quiet location, very good breakfast with a wide selection of hot and cold items. Our room was clean and comfortable. The building itself could use some refurbishment and the customer service could have been much nicer, however it's an ideal place for a short stay.

Perfect place to visit on way to Oxford.-
lovely and spotless room with high quality amenities, plenty of hot water and towels. Amazing breakfast. Only disappointment was bar menu but well priced. Well located in centre of town and plenty of interesting walks from hotel.

Handy for exploring the area
Building is old and perhaps in need of some refurbishment. My girlfriend would have freaked out at the many spiders on the room window. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Although was clearly two very old divans fastened together with a double mattress on top. Shower seemed unable to pour cold water and was scalding hot. Could have injured the elderly,very young or anyone not careful enough to test before stepping under. Food was very good and plentiful. Staff were polite and friendly and bar was reasonably priced and convivial. Some clientele less than genteel if that sort of thing bothers you.

Thank you for your review, if you could kindly advised what room you were staying in, I will arrange for the shower to be looked at. No one else has mentioned a problem to us. We are aware that some of our rooms are in need of a bit of tlc and we are in the process of working on these. I look forward to receiving details of the room number.

Hotel Amenities: TV in room did not work (could be just that we did not know how to use it. Perhaps a guide to help for this in the room would help. Also could have used a dresser or extra chair to place things on. Thank you

Right in the center of Faringdon
Nice pub. The staff was helpful and friendly, they make sure we enjoyed our stay. The building gives you an impression of going back in time. The place is really well maintained. The rooms are clean and we did not hear any noise coming from the bar.

Good price so don't expect too much.
We were shown a menu on checking in and chose a dish, which turned out not to be available as that menu wasn't current. So we chose veg lasagna on the current menu, but that wasn't available, so we chose cod, only to be told that wasn't available either so we dined elsewhere. (It was 7 pm on a Friday evening). There was limited choice for breakfast but the basics were there and were fine. Room was not marvellous but OK. A good price so probably get what you pay for.

We had a superior room which was above the bar we checked in at about 1.45 lunch time and all we could hear was the bar downstairs so we asked to change room. We moved to the nasaby room just off the court yard we asked the receptionist about the little bar next to pub called Ruby Jacks what it was she said she didn't know. Later we went out for dinner and went in the bar interesting place even more interesting the receptionist was there. Well the noise from there could be heard till early hours off the morning from are room. And as for the shower every setting it was put on it squeaked and sounded like the plumbing was going to explode. After breakfast we thought we would check out and stay a while have coffee and lunch later before heading home. We went to go to the bar 11.30 am and was asked where have you left the key I said the room my partner was going down to the bar which we were told its closed where have you parked your car you need to go out the back. Hospitality not top of the list. Not a friendly place or quiet place to stay . Annabell Bond 16/04/16

Old 17th century coaching inn with quirks
Really traditional and somewhat untouched 17th century pub with many hidden rooms on different levels. The market square looks worthy of further investigation . . . .

We were there for a quick stop over. The decor was tired but our room was very clean. Breakfast was plentiful and good enough. Staff were very pleasant and very helpful.

Faringdon Folly Fest
We booked into the Old Crown Coaching Inn because we were attending the Faringdon Folly Fest 2015. This hotel is perfectly situated for the main stage in the Market Square and the second stage in the inn's own courtyard. Our room was very comfortable and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. BBQ burgers were very tasty and we could have anything we wanted for breakfast. We will be booking again for next year.

Old hotel with lots of character
A nice old English pub. Decor a bit faded but that is part of the atmosphere. Room was very clean with all necessary facilities. Staff were friendly and helpful. Enjoyed mixing with local residents in the bar. Food was good plentiful and inexpensive.

Well located hotel in the centre of Faringdon
The hotel has its own car park with the Oxford and Swindon express bus stop outside the front door, Heather and the team make you really welcome and the breakfast is excellent. Overall a very enjoyable and pleasant stay

nice room lovely shower, toilet brush awful! Breakfast not bad but why are the sausages in most places so terrible they were like cardboard rolls with bread inside.
