Top Falls Village Hotel Reviews

The Little Lion

10/10 Excellent

"awesome"

Blackberry River Inn

8/10 Good

"Almost everything was really great, and I would definately return again. The only minor critique is that there was no coffee machine in our room, and no coffee machine on the landing between the rooms. The machine in the study/sitting area only provided tea or instant coffee. The only real coffee available is if you go into the breakfast room, and then you have to wait for it to be served to you. When we do return I will simply bring a coffee maker with me, but that is annoying."

Days Inn by Wyndham Torrington

10/10 Excellent

"This place got screwed by a few prior reviews. It is not a 4-star hotel and does it pretend to be but the room and bathroom were clean, it was quiet, guy at desk very nice and helpful. Good quiet heat/air conditioning, ample parking. Tv worked fine. Only 2 negatives: free breakfast was very basic - coffee, cereal, yogurt. (But full service family restaurant less than a block away); tub drain was a little slow so 1/4” of water near front end of tub after 5 minute shower (nice shower head, ample hot water with good pressure). Given the options in this area, I would not hesitate staying here."

the Alander

8/10 Good

"Great night at the Alander! Room was comfy! We loved the property and the fire pit! They had stacked the fire wood to start a campfire! We sat around it and enjoyed thoroughly! The hotel was a bit noisy - ! Loved the thought ful snacks and breakfast setup which was left for us to enjoy! We would definitely return!"

Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Great Barrington Lenox/Berkshires

10/10 Excellent

"We were very pleased with our experience here. Room was super clean and included a mini fridge and microwave. The mini fridge was much needed for storing milk as we were traveling with an 8 month old. We forgot the sheet for our pack and play and the staff was helpful in providing us with one. The black out curtains were very effective and helped get baby ready for his nap. Breakfast was solid. We had lots and bags and baby things resulting in my husband making multiple trips between lobby and room. One thing that would have made our stay better is help with our luggage upon arrival. In any case, we look forward to staying here again!"

The Abner Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"Our stay was flawless and fabulous! Amazing dinner and service at the Courtroom restaurant which included free Prosecco to celebrate our anniversary. Delicious complimentary coffee and breakfast back in that same beautiful setting the following morning. Still in awe of the view from the rooftop bar where we enjoyed local beer and creative cocktails."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Falls Village?

The best area to stay in Falls Village is the village centre itself, offering a quintessential New England experience.

This charming area is compact and easily explored on foot, centred around Main Street. You'll find a few local shops, a country inn, and the historic Falls Village Inn. The Housatonic River flows nearby, providing a picturesque backdrop and opportunities for enjoying nature.

For couples seeking a tranquil and romantic getaway, staying in the village centre is ideal. You'll be able to enjoy leisurely strolls, dine at the local inn, and appreciate the quiet beauty of the Litchfield Hills, perhaps even exploring the nearby Great Falls.

When is the best time to go to Falls Village?

The best time to visit Falls Village is during late spring (May to early June) and autumn (September to October) for pleasant weather and beautiful scenery.

Late spring offers mild temperatures, making it ideal for outdoor activities like hiking along the Appalachian Trail, which passes through the area, or exploring the Housatonic River. This period is excellent for couples who enjoy nature and exploring at a relaxed pace.

Autumn brings stunning foliage to the Berkshire Mountains, making Falls Village a prime destination for leaf peeping. The cooler, crisp air is superb for scenic drives through the Litchfield Hills or visiting local farms and orchards for seasonal produce. This time of year is especially good for those seeking a tranquil escape and breathtaking natural beauty.

While summer is also popular, it can be warmer and busier.
